Package in NC... arrrrg I hope I see an update when I check the tracking # later tonight. I edited my original first post to clear up some things. Whether or not it's called twincharging or compound charging, it will be utilizing both a JRSC and turbo in the setup almost similar to the prelude video that's posted.

Nice! I thought you had long abandoned the CB7... glad to see it's poised to become a true groundbreaker!
That has always been a dream of mine. It's utterly pointless, as you can make more power than you'll ever need with a turbo alone, and probably with a supercharger alone as well. Still, the novelty of it, and the sheer badassness of it, is well worth the effort!

Nope i'm still lurking on your forums almost everyday. I just rarely post these days but i'm still alive and kicking.
True I agree the supercharger or just a turbo alone will be more than enough power for a FWD honda, but I want to do it just for the hell of it. I'm happy to see lots of people doing different setups on the CB7 these days. RB powered accord? J-series accord? those are probably the most unique things I've seen recently so far and it blows me away.
If I had the fabrication skills I'd still love to do a F20C swap into a CB7 since they got them working in Civics with a K-series tranny adapter....but I think I'll just put my old built H22 to use and go with what was planned.... and then some.Last edited by Warudakumi; 10-11-2012, 04:24 AM.

The mr2 aftermarket offered a twincharged kit for years, it was made by hks-so its not really all that one off at all.
I know that shop is quality I just thought it was worth pointing out.
Best of luck though man

Well that would mean that super Lotus wouldn't be a one off original idea either because there are several Lotus enthusiasts that have been twin charging the Rover engines in the Euro spec models before Toyotas motor came along. His build was inspired by a compound setup rally car from the 80's.Originally posted by toycar View PostThe mr2 aftermarket offered a twincharged kit for years, it was made by hks-so its not really all that one off at all.

So that said it may have not been the first kit out, but this can be considered more of a one off plainly because of the customization that went into developing the kit for that customer....and for the fact it's not a production kit made for the masses either.
Blacktrax's custom kit makes the HKS kit look like a mere greddy bolt-on solution. Technology and ideas change all the time in the car industry and everyone has their chance to re invent the wheel and improve upon whats been proven to work or not.

I dunno man, maybe Im coming off wrong.
Twincharging is badass. Twincharging an Mr2 was the common, twincharged setup back in the day.
The kits they sold allowed ANYBODY to set it up with any mechanical know how.
Thats all im saying. If you had said they twincharged a 5.0 mustang or an lsx motor I would be impressed. An mr2, meh, that was average typical car guy shit 10 years ago thanks to hks.
No offense either, I know that shop kicks ass. I have a friend in San Francisco that has used them a few times, and I have was there in person maybe 6 months ago.
Not knocking the shop at all, just saying that twincharging an mr2 isn't a big deal.Originally posted by wed3kim a douchebag to people and i don't even own a lambo. whats your point? we, douchbags, come in all sorts of shapes and colours.

I think twincharging anything is worthy of notice. It's just interesting. I actually looked into importing a Nissan March SuperTurbo just to have a factory twincharged car! (even if my Fit could outrun it...
)
When it comes to cars, just about everything has been done. There will always be someone faster. There will always be someone more creative. There will always be someone that did the same thing as you. If not right away, expect it soon after. the point is to build a car to impress yourself... as everyone else will marvel at it for a minute, and move on to marvel at the next shiny object to come along.

check out vw's twincharger engine (even though it is small displacement)

Originally posted by wikiBased on the EA111, this new engine was announced at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, to be first used in the Mk5 Golf GT, the 125 kW 1.4 litre TSI engine is a "Twincharger", and uses both a turbocharger and a supercharger. Its displacement downsizing leads to improved fuel economy, with 14% more power than the 2.0 FSI, but consuming 5% less fuel. The mechanical supercharger compressor, driven at 1.5 times the speed of the crankshaft, mainly operates at low engine speeds from tick-over up to 2,400 revolutions per minute (rpm) to increase low-end torque. At engine speeds just above idle, the belt-driven supercharger provides a boost pressure of 1.2 bars (17.4 psi). The turbocharger assumes full effectiveness at middle revs, and the engine map disengages the clutch-controlled supercharger at a maximum upper limit of 3,500 rpm; the supercharger will then be bypassed once the turbocharger spools up and reaches sufficient speed to provide adequate boost in the upper rev-ranges. This engine is made at Volkswagen-Motorenfertigung, Chemnitz.
In 2007, Volkswagen announced the 90 kW model which will replace the 1.6 FSI 85 kW (116 PS; 114 bhp) engine. This engine differs from the 103 kW and 125 kW models in several ways. It uses only one method of forced induction - a turbocharger (and not a supercharger), and has water-cooled intercooler. The engine has reduced frictional losses, optimised camshafts, new intake ports, and new high-pressure injector valves. It is also 14 kilograms (31 lb) lighter than the 125 kW model, in order to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions.
Was a little hard to find from the link, so I quoted and added.
They have this engine setup, exactly like I said with an electronic controlled supercharger on a clutch that disengages once the turbo builds boost.
Kick ass man!! It says at just over idle the supercharger creates 17psi of pressure.
I bet the torque curve on this engine is nuts, even though it doesn't make shit for power!!Originally posted by wed3kim a douchebag to people and i don't even own a lambo. whats your point? we, douchbags, come in all sorts of shapes and colours.

It's here!
Well it's finally here! No thanks to USPS, I got a bit worried since the tracking from NC never updated until yesterday. (Was supposed to arrive the 16th)
As far as new old stock goes, the kit came as described brand new. My only gripes are the scratches and dings from the box obviously being tossed around during shipment. The original box was destroyed so the kit was placed in a new large white box with padding just on the blower itself. The other pulley brackets were just thrown in. Obviously security measures were taken too since the box was wrapped in a scotch tape cocoon. A obvious hole was prodded inside the box to check the contents and i'm assuming this caused the small nick on the blower.
Here are a couple of things I'll be ordering within the next few weeks.
1) LHT intercooler
(I will be calling them 2maro to see if this will raise or modify the blowers installation any. I can't tell since they only have B-series pictures up) If this doesn't work out, i'll just keep the charger bolted on as is and run a DEI bulb to temporarily keep IAT down during spirited runs.
2) Front mount heat exchanger & pump.
- I decided I won't be using LHT's kit since i've priced a very similar kit for cheaper which even includes an icebox as well. I'm currently looking into the CX kit. They sell on e-bay as well and i'm sure they can put a kit together without the intercooler.
3) RC Injectors or Precision 550cc injectors.
-I might just utilize my 2G Greentop DSM 450cc injectors or change out my fuel rail for rosko modified one to accept RDX injectors.
I'll post detailed pictures later today when I get off work. I couldn't find my a6 manifold anywhere btw....Last edited by Warudakumi; 10-18-2012, 05:33 AM.

Got some good news for you F-series guys.....
Fits like a glove
I only mounted the base sandwich plate the supercharger blower stacks on and sure enough all the bolt holes, gaskets etc. lined up like it was meant to be. Obviously different sized belt will need to be used and a custom tune but that wouldn't be hard at all.
If jackson racing marketed the supercharger for F22-H23 guys maybe they would've made a little more money off these kits. Fitment of course would've been an issue for certain cars but hey they could've gave that warning and sold it anyways.
That said, I hope to see some F22/H23 guys using these kits if they pass a deal too low to be refused!
Kinda makes me want to say #*!@ the H22 and wish I never swapped out the F22 in the first place. With the Carb legal tag too.... what smog station here in California would know there wasn't a kit for a F22/H23 (unless they were an enthusiast)
Tuned a F22 would easily see over 200HP and with longer gearing it may actually be sorta fun.Last edited by Warudakumi; 10-19-2012, 05:02 PM.

So you are saying the H SC kit works on the f22? I thought the bolt pattern and port spacing was different.
If this is true this is awsome i might cancel my nitrous idea and go sc.
