Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Just a thought that popped in my head

Now some may think this is funny or stupid, but this thought just popped into my head. Would there be any benefit to installing a pull fan on the back of an intercooler. Now i may answer my own question by saying this but.

A fan on a radiator is used to help move air when the car is at a stand still to help cool off the coolant. But would putting a fan on the back of an intercooler help with keeping the temp down even more?

I am sure it would be pointless since the change would probably be small but just wondered if anyone has thought of this? Or tried it and seen results. Maybe a cheaper route then in Ntercooler.

And if you feel this is a stupid thread feel free to delete but please no bashing.

If you have a fan on the radiator and the intercooler is a front mount then the fan is pulling air threw both when its on.

Sort of, but it's not doing it efficiently. It's got a bumper support above it and it's much lower.

OP, you'd likely be restricted by the airflow of the fans you'd be forced to use because of the smaller size. Unless you went with a larger intercooler. Clearance may also be an issue. It is, however, not a stupid question.

I agree with Jarrett, I think the results would be to small for having it on just for idle/stand still. The colder air flow benefits more while under boost than at stand still, and the vehicles movement usually takes care of that.

Right i totally agree. i know that the temps dont matter at a standstill but when you go into boost, yes you have the ram air from moving forward but would a pull fan be able to aid it anymore to make a any kind difference? Just like how the nitrous spray cooler cools down the intercooler when sprayed to lower the temps, would having a pull fan increase the air flow causing it to cool down more then if you didnt have the fan?

This is also just me being bored and thinking of stuff i havent seen done before.

Im sure it would make a small difference to not having one, But nothing like an N20 cooler would.

I agree the gains would be minimal.

Personally I would go air to water intercooler if I needed to cool the charge. Also, I prefer meth over n2o
