Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

need more details man. sure you can boost a car without playing with the ECU. but you better have something to add more fuel. "staying out of boost" isnt as easy as it sounds. especially if you have a smaller turbo like a 14b which im assuming you have.
if you have bigger injectors you need at least an AFC (Which is more expensive than a chipped ECU)
if your really cheap and dont want any of that. you can get an "FMU" aka rising rate fuel pressure regulator. however. you can say bye bye to your engine in a fairly short amount of time. and it still not much cheaper than an ECU, especially if you need to buy the fuel pump
in the end. standalone > AFC > FMU.

no, your correct. But it can hold up to 15 psi before it starts to leak, usually... if your only running 8 psi, it SHOULD be safe, but after all it is plastic...Originally posted by Granite CB7^Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 2g DSM BOV made of plastic and is prone to boost leaks? I'm almost positive it is.Shift_BOOST

what? How would messing with a BOV in any way deal with the amount of boost you run??? only the wastegate controls the boost(unless you have a boost controller). The only thing I see you can do is to run a bypass valve back to the turbine to reduce lag(I think i worded that right)....Originally posted by fizzbob7they swap to the 1g valves ALSO because you can crush the top and up the boost that wayShift_BOOST

i think you are thinking something different.Originally posted by 92exwhat? since the DSMs run such high PSI the stock BOV starts to leak. when you crush the top of them, it puts more pressure on the spring, allowing you to run more PSI before the BOV leaks.

that makes sense. I was thinking leaving wg and boost controller at stock settings and then crushing a BOV would get you more boost...Originally posted by Accord R33i think you are thinking something different.
