Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    my boosting project underway!

Yeah i decide tonight was the night to begin and everything is almost done! except i had a few questions for you turbo guys out there..

    1. how excatly and what tool did u use to widen the plastic and rubber ring on the intake manifold where the new dsm 450cc injectors go to make them fit in?

    2. what would be the best place to run my vaccum line off my bov for the best response?

    3. what size pipe did you use to the cat. i was going to go 2 1/2 in off the turbo to the bottom of the car and cut off right before the flex pipe on the stock downpipe i had and weld it to that but will this cause problems with flow going 2 1/2 to small ass factory piping or is it not that big off difference? i was thinking it would save some money plus let me disconnect the cat and run a test pipe.

i would appericate any info to these questions! thanx

I used a air drill on the orings. tee off the intake manifold. there should be extra outlets if you need them. I used 2 in pipe. everyone is going turbo

don't do anything with the o rings. its a myth that they need to be widened to fit. just grease them up with vaseline or grease, and put them in. they will be a little tight, so use a pry bar on top of the fuel rail.

or you could just widen them. I would feel uncomfortable forcing the injectors into the hole

wow! you still have to widen the hard plastic rings tho for it to let the injector sit farther in the manifold i suppose but i will try leaving the o rings the same. so it really doesnt matter were to run the vaccum line off the bov on the manifold? i just thought there might be a better port off the manifold for it to react quicker. thanx for the help.

if u wanna get technical... the farther away from the head the injectors are.. the better atomization..

so i guess the back part of the manifold away from the tb toward the fire wall would be a great place. thanx wik!

are you boosted?? don't tell me what i have to do, i've boosted about 3-4 cars now with dsm 450's, and i've never widened the injector seals that sit inside the intake manifold. those rings are rubber as well

i was talking about the injectors backfire.. the further away from the head the better they atomize

really ? well mine has 2 sets of rings the bottom ones are plastic while the top ones are rubber. thats wired cause the plastic rings will not let you force into them i tried but the top rubber ones will. or am i suppose to leave the plastic ones alone? but if i do that there will be a gap between the rubber seal and the plastic one.

"o and wik, i like to get really percise cause i want everything on my car to be top notch!"

o ic, so it would be better for there to be a gap between the plastic rings and the rubber?

do you have a pic of how your injectors seat into the manifold?
