Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    exhaust size?

I have 2 H22s right now, one which is going in my car at the end of this month the the other one I'm building for turbo. My question is, say for example my manifold ends in a 2.5 in exhaust. Would a 3in down pipe all the way back make it flow any better? Or would 2.5in all the way back make more sense?

    Thanks for the help

i hope your talking about for the turbo setup.... cause 3" on an NA is way to much... even if it was cheap crush bends it still wouldnt give much back pressure and you would lose power 2.5 works pritty good for NA thats what i ran before i built my turbo setup (some will argue this but i had no troubles)... as far as the turbo setup goess... run as big of an exhaust as you can fit

Yeah its for a turbo set up. Thats what I was thinking. With a turbo... as big as the speed bumps will let you. So this is true even if the turbo manifold only has say 2.5/2.75 outlet??? Yeah I know about the loss of low end tq... there isn't much... The way my exhaust is now its like running the stock manifold into the stock downpipe and having them dump right there. All I felt was a power gain everywhere.

yeah, i built a 3" dp for my cb7 and that was a bitch... and jesus.. there isnt much ground clearance.. i had to put my coil overs about half way up just to drive it around ( i made a little skid plate for the DP too ) if i had it over to do again i might have just made a smaller 2.5 inch dp cause i would have been an easyer fit and then ran that to 3" back.... as it was i had to notch the crossmember and re-weld and patch it just to fit the 3" DP in... good luck dude..

it depends how much hp u want to make. 300 and less 2.5 will do fine. more the 300hp go 3 inch.

its been proven that a 3" for a n/a h22 gains more hp. so i doesnt matter. but i would run a 3" weither or not you have a big turbo or not.
                      miss my turbo cb7
