From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    85.5mm or 0.020" over headgasket???

I've searched and searched and I still can't find an answer.

I would like to bore my stock block to 85.5mm or 0.020"over to ensure "good as new" cylinder bores but I can't find a headgasket. Does anyone know if someone makes a headgasket that's 20over or can a stock one be modified, if so, what would it cost and how would such a modification be done? This is the only thing that's stopping me from buying my pistons and rods right now. I really need to know about this headgasket, if anyone has an answer or at least some insight it would be much appreciated.

I think I remember reading that an F23's bore is 86mm, so maybe you could use that gasket

my engine bore is 85.5mm (.020" over)
i was using a f22a gasket, but it was not big enough...
i switched to a f23 gasket and it fit very nice and is holding up well. I did modify it slightly by drilling open 2 coolant ports that are closed on it....

Well, I talked to my machine shop yesterday and they said that even if we bore the cylinders .020 over, I can still use the stock head gasket.

Fast93Accord, didn't your headgasket blow out because your pistons stick out like .030 or something?

Newayz, I'll probably try to run the stock hg, unless I can get one customer fitted at a reasonable price.

Anyone else have an opinion or a straight answer?

just use an f23. the bore on them is larger. like stated above...check all coolant and oil gallies.

honestly the stock F22 headgasket is not good for a 85.5mm bore. Someone else told me they used one so i did, but i did not like the fitment at all. If you put it on the block you will see the gasket actually is in on the bore... use the F23 gasket. it fits much nicer.
i did blow 2 headgaskets and i think the gasket size was playing a role.
