Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    blockguard

    so... i'm starting anew.....

now... would a blockguard be beneficiary for a turbo F22? i've always heard bad things about blockguards because of the cooling and such.... but would you put one on yours and if you have what brands did you use? i'm talking about over 10 psi or so...

Are you going to use the stock sleeves? I thing everyone will tell you to sleeve the block and dont use the block gaurd with that much boost.

eh, this is about 50/50 with people.

All I really have to say is, if done right, they work very well.

Personally, I would never use a blockgaurd. I'd rather save up my money and just resleeve.

My dilemnas with block guards are that:

        1. they are pressed into the coolant jacket meaning they WILL be exerting force on both the block and the sleeves.

        2. If not pressed in and zero'd properly you'll have some pretty major seating and cooling issues.

        3. They only brace the very top of the cylinder. The force exerted by the pistons is greatest towards the center of the sleeve.

They don't brace the correct part of the sleeve, thats my beef... sleeve it or fill it.
