From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    Golden Eagle VTEC Conversion Kit

Anyone used this? I know some people like to swap heads that have vtec, so wouldnt something like this be pretty damn good instead of just plugging up the holes?

its an oil block adapter. greddy sells those too. it has nothing to do with vtec conversion, except for the fact that it creates an extra spot for an oil line. vtec or turbo, or anything.

I guess I kinda jumped the gun when I was typing. Got a bit excited. What I wanted to say was...

I know people swap heads that have vtec on blocks that don't have it, so for people who turbo, wouldnt this be a pretty cool idea so you don't have to plug up the holes and make it useless?

Since when VTEC was considered Forced Induction? I know you wanted help or an opinion Cerberus2k7, but would have been best to have this in the swap forum.

And those kits are for B18s. There is not H23/F22 kits available from Golden Eagle. All the kit has is a block adapter, HG, oil line and fittings. And an overpriced cost of 260 bucks. You can make a kit like that for 130. At least I did when I was in high school.

you shouldnt be a smart ass unless you know what you are talking about, obviously you didnt click the link. They should probably label it better like one eye guy said, its an adapter.

Precision CNC machined from 6061t6 billit aluminum easily allows you to add VTEC head to a non-VTEC block. Can be used for a turbo oil feed to supply your turbo with clean filtered oil.

Also, 99% of honda's use the same oil filter, therefore you can use this on accord/prelude motors.

I've been using this for about 2 years and has been working fine. It has two ports on it. I'm using one for the turbo, and the other for an oil pressure guage.

Alot of you guys need to quit jumpin the gun here, he had a legit question, and only needs a legit answer, not bullshit. L8r

Ha!!! I didn't click the link, so thats correct. However thats an overpriced oil filter adapter at that. So same principle stays, now its just Golden Eagle sells overpriced parts period. I have a very similar adapter sitting here as part of my 180 dollar oil cooler kit. And it comes lines, fittings, oil cooler, oil filter relocation, and of course...the adapter.

BTW, a block adapter ( the one that goes where the factory oil pressure switch is located) is only like 10 bucks and it does the same job. The only advantage the oil filter adapter has over the clock adapter is you can use a larger AN line, However since you need high psi for any kind of line whether it be turbo or VTEC you are better off going with something -6 AN or smaller. And a block adapter accomodates those lines.

I didn't jump on him for it not being a legit question. He applied it to VTEC, so its not a F/I question. So yes, my first comment in regards to Golden Eagle was wrong. However, this thread is geared more towards swaps.

Oh, yes and let me add...running the external VTEC line can decrease the reliability of your setup. Using the internal passage is not only cheaper, but its a more reliable method of converting your non-VTEC block to a VTEC block.

I know that vtec uses more oil when engaged, and I know turbos need the fresh oil to cool down, so I figured, instead of having vtec, use that oil to cool the turbo better which would make it last longer.

And that's why I put it into this section. Because I was thinking of using it on a turbo.

Well you didn't relay that message earlier. Personally, thats a bit pricey. Its cool because its a quick install tho. I would suggest getting it elsewhere. On ebay those things are like 45 bucks. Here' s one.

Good call, could have saved me a few bux.

I paid 100 bux for mine, but I spent about 1200 bux at that time through v4lu3s on stuff, so he cut me a good deal.

By the way, with the h23a1 (Not sure on others) I had to bend the pinch weld on the rear crossmember just a bit to get room for the oil filter with this installed. L8r all
