Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.


The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.


For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.


Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    pistons

    i am wondering if anyone has tryed the xt / xtp pistons from race engenering

    i wanna get my car runing very soon so i am looking for some off the shelf pistons

    I'm pretty sure that those are the pistons that everyone is running in their F-series engines. There are no other off the shelf pistons that I know of.

        I would talk to bisi though i just bought mine from him with dome and skirt coatings for a bad ass price!

          This is what I understand to be true: Race eng XD and XTP pistons are custom made for Race eng by reputable companies such as Arias and JE. Usually they're made for applications that are not common or sizes that are usually not available as shelf pistons from those companies.

              I got my pistons from race engineering. They are made by wiseco for them. They are the extreme duty forged 8.8:1 pistons. 85.5mm is the largest they had them in, so thats what i have... Very nice pistons...
              12.5 at 114.6mph 15psi

                  they are just darton's flanged sleeves. personally id go with golden eagle for longevity and strength.

                    exactly what i have, ran me $500usd shipped i belive, with rings and pins. I havent ran the motor with them yet but they look like a very very high quality part

                      any forged piston can "look" like a high quality part.... how it actually reacts to very high stress levels is what tells you what quality is. im not bashin on wiseco i just have had problems in the past with them and i personally wont use anything but arais at this point. plus i only paid 575 shipped including rings pins and skirt and dome coatings so....
