Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

If its just going to be a track car you won't really need one (as far as I know). All the timer does is keep the car running so the oil can drain out.
If this is also going to be your DD and a track car than I would say get one if you don't want to let your car sit at idle for a min or so before you shut it off and get out.
From what i've learned its basically a convenience thing.

A timer is definately worth having.... When your car idles It is meant to keep your oil from cooking itself to the inside of your engine by allowing it to cool down before you turn the car off this will also extend the life of your cars engine so its definately worth it
GOT BOOST???
massive part out on accord almost everything is going

The turbo timer IS infact a great thing to have. As far as Dep22build says he's right, but forgot one thing. Another main reason why it's good to have these when turbo'd is because it allows the turbo to cool down before shutting the car off. A lot of turbo's go bad just because the majority of people just shut their car off right away when they get done driving it. That allows for a major cool down in the turbo, and when it's very hot and cooled down too fast a lot of cracking can occur. When the turbo sits to idle it's cooling down slowly, and therefore you have a healthy turbo day by day!
