Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    My dyno video

For those interested, here is the video of my dyno. Car made 123whp, 131wtq.
Those of you with a good eye will be able to see how bad my motor mounts were. I've replaced all but the rear mount, which is going in this weekend, if I recieve my Bisimoto intake manifold gasket. I'll need to pull the IM to make room to remove the mount.

Personally, I like to remove the intake manifold with the head, at same time. Then, separate the IM from head outside engine bay, reassemble. This way you can clean the gasket surfaces well and torque everything properly. Reinstall IM on head, install as assy onto engine.

Of course, this would be more justified if you needed the head removed for other reasons. I usually take advantage of the IM removal to replace all coolant hoses on it, then do heater hoses if necessary as well, while I'm in there. I don't like having to go back there just for those issues alone, PITA. Perfect time for rear engine mount inspection and replacement, if necessary.

However, people do manage to just deal with the IM independently.

Yeah, I had planned on replacing all the hoses on the intake manifold while it's off. They are pretty crappy looking at this point in time. I'm hoping the IM gasket comes off in one piece, as it hasn't been on there long (4-5 months). I spent over 2 hours cleaning the flange the first time I removed the manifold. I really had to rush everything else though, as I was trying to get all my parts swapped over from my 93' and I had about 2 days before moving to Texas. I had to do a timing belt job, cam swap, intake manifold swap, valve adjustment, swap upper balljoints over, replace tie rods, swap exhaust, wire in IABs, etc, in two days, while preparing for a wedding and a move, haha.

My motor sounds like "VTEC" when it hits 5K RPMS

            VTEC without "VTEC"

Bisi intake gasket is installed. If I can find the dough, I'll dyno it.

You should get it dyno'd at same one as before.

For sure. I've got to keep the conditions as consistant as possible to make any comparisons worthwhile.

If you guys are willing to paypal me a little donation, it'll make it that much sooner that I can go to the dyno to give information back to community. I'm trying to save for a house, so every little bit you donate helps. Don't look at it as donating money to me, look at it as donating to the community.
