Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

well if you are NOT familiar OBD stands for (On-board Diagnostics)..
90-93 accords were one of the first if not the first to use the OBD1 version of computers or ecu's..
there is no valid reason to want an OBD2 ECU for a vehicle not wired for it.. and there also is no valid reason for WANTING an obd2 ecu aswell..
reason for that is that OBD2 ecu's are NOT programmable (not able to be chipped or modified)
OBD1's are extremely programmable and very readily available.. there are 1000's of different programs available for obd1 ecu's.. aswell as whats known as Crome Tuning.. which is equipment and computer program available to make your own chips/adjustments/programs basically the cheapest FULL Stand-Alone ECU.. while still using your stock ecu.. although the same changes can be made as say.. an AEM, Apex'i Power FC, Accel DFI.. etc etc.. altho the chips are "burned" like CD's.. once burned they are not adjustable after that point.. another chip is to be made.. etc etc.. but chips are CHEAP CHEAP.. compared to the 1000-1500-2000$ for a new AEM Stand Alone..
haha.. sorry for the OVERLOAD of information.. but i hope this gives you an idea.. why ppl either CONVERT to or STAY with OBD1 programming

i would get OBD2 b/c if i wanna use a scan tool i only need to find one plug to plug it in. with OBD1 i would have to search through like 10 different plugs from different car makes to find the right plug for my car to use the scantool.Originally posted by 4genaccordfreak...there is no valid reason to want an OBD2 ECU for a vehicle not wired for it.. and there also is no valid reason for WANTING an obd2 ecu aswell...

^^ even tho you are joking...
OBD2's REQUIRE scan tools to view engine/wiring codes...
OBD1's do not.. and there is only 1 plug.. not 10 and it is usually near/undernieth the glove compartment...
and only a simple paper clip.. or "U" clip is needed to view any codes
