Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.


The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.


For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.


Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    Single Cam Vtec!

    hey guys...got some couple of question..can't get the answers im looking for...my friend has a crx...a single cam vtec motor frm and eg....it's obd1...the thing is...i need to wire up the vtec...but there's 3 wires...one green,black,and one red wire inside the harness...so how am i suppose to wire them up!and where does the red and green wire go...thanx guyz!i really need help!

    A D16??? or a B1. Out of a crx I am guessing a d16 whyyy lol. That is prob one reason you arent gettin many answers. The stock F22A is a lot better than that motor lol.

      He is talking about a D16Z6 in a CRX lol!

      The best way to figure it out is to get the wiring diagram from the car you have and then from whatever harness the engine is from.

      That will tell you what is what.

      Usually there is one wire for the VTEC solenoid, and then 2 wires for the VTEC pressure switch.

      I don't know which color is which off the top of my head though.

          If its an obd1 ecu then pin a4 is the vtec solinoid, and pin c6 is vtec oil pressure and you just ground the negitive. the A plug is the largest plug, the c plug is the second largest, you count pins from top to bottom right to left with the ridged side of the plug facing up. youll be able to find diagrams on here if that isnt enough help.

              hey guys thanx for the help!i'll try it out!yeah i know the single cam vtec motor in my friends crx is frm a 92-95 civic and my f22a4 will take it anytime!it's been proven cause where im from!they like to pick on me cause i have a family car!ha!yeah shure!16.2 with just an sri! and straight pipe exhaust!but yeah thanx again

                im not sure about you8r ?, but i was about to get a 93 EJ1 with the D16Z6, i wanted it so bad, then my dad didnt help me out. and i was PISSED...Good luck with the wiring tho.
