Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

bumping up the f22a6 rev limiter

i think i can bump up the rev limiter to about 7.2k and get some results.. i think there is a bit of power abover 6.2k that is unexplored on the f22a6

--i think i would have to upgrade the valve train since i do have over 215k miles on my motor... how expensive our the valve train upgrades.i know if you go to f22parts.com they are quite high..any other place to get valve train upgrades?... i havent searched yet .. but im looking into it

question:.. would uberdata be a good way to bump up the rev limiter?.. its not like im taking the f-series up to 9k like some people wish too..just bumping it up a little

i notice since i got a 5 speed and 8lb flywheelthat my power is inbetween 4k and the rev limit.. but like i said..i think there is a bit more power on our torqueless hondas in that range..im also going turbo soon..and would like to stay in boost longer

really, wow i didn't know that. but its wierd though, a couple of minutes ago i just raced this civic before coming home and after i handed him a new one i notice that my speedometer was at a 128mph and the car feels like it can go more faster than this without the engine trying to cut off.

in 5th gear you wont hit the rev limiter..even at 128..

There's no reason to rev that high until you have the mods to do so.

Sure, it will rev that high, but you won't make much power.

Take a look at HondaFan81's red project. He has more mods than you plan to have and doesnt rev much past 7k. There's no reason to.

Uberdata, Crome, Hondata. Choose what you want. The point of those programs is not to raise the rev limit, but to help manage the engine.

id go for bisimoto's valvetrain upgrade. a little over 600 for the valves, tit. retainers and springs.

you might as well port the head, port match the intake manifold and throw on a new head gasket while you are at it. go big or go home.

KMS also makes f22 valvetrain parts as well, but ive never really heard of anyone using them in BIG hp motors.

if your going to raise the rev limiter you will need more than just head and intake mani work. your going to need some good connecting rods so they could handle that much rev. also once you pull out the rods, you might as well replace the pistons. its alot of work, for pretty much nothing. get an h22 and rev all you want.

im sure if you blueprint the f22 motor, it will free a good amount of horsepower. if hondafan's red project dyno'd 150 to the wheels and i jsut came back from a dyno day where two h22 swapped cb7's made 175-186 to the wheels.

thats just a 25 hp advantage with an extra cam AND vtec.
