    Got my purge valve today!

I got my purge valve today woohoo! Can anyone here host any pics for me? I already know where I want to purge from, but is there any particular place I should install the valve for a direct port kit? Unfortunately I won't be able to buy/install a nitrous kit until late May so I'm just getting some of it pieced together early. Anyone have any idea on how much power the rods can handle? By the time I run it I will have pretty much every bolt on there is plus some other little goodies so I'm hoping my engine won't go boom. I'll start it off at a 50 shot, but I'm hoping I can run a 75 shot. My plans for running the nitrous safely are as follows:

MSD ignition/blaster coil, nology ignition wires, 2 step colder plugs, retard the timing 2 degrees (installing my aem cam gear), aem fpr

Is there anything else I should add to that list? I will probably be going the Hondata route this summer so I will get it all tuned properly. I'm guessing I will need to upgrade the injectors and fuel pump as well. Would dsm blue tops and a walbro 255 lph pump be good?

As for injectors I don’t think you really need them. You might want a get the fuel pump tho, just to be safe and for an extra mod. You should be able to run a 75 shot. If you run the 55 shot, I guarantee you’ll boost it to 65-75 in 2 weeks…lol.
I mean u notice a differenct but its nuffin like the 65 up shot.
I had 55 for like a day and 65 for like 2 weeks, ran 75 for like a week but my clutch would slip like crazy so I dropped it back to a 65shot until I get a stage 1 clutch, but you should be fine sense you already have one. Just make sure everything else is ok, like compression, get colder plugs also. I brought some NGK id. Plugs but tthey burnt out on me before I even used my nitrous, so now im running with Denco id, plugs. Cost me 50bux but they seem to be doing the job.
Get a fuel rail if you can also, it will work nice sense u have or plan to get direct port.
So you don’t have to do any drilling to the stock fuel rail

also....no matter what u say your gona waste like 2 bottles....lol
i did but it wasnt racing up and down the street, it was to make sure everything was ok while and after spraying
the hardest part to get use to is noticing when you're out of nitrous.
for 1st 3 bottles i went thru, i would think somethings wrong when i ran out. sense i have a wet kit im spraying fuel and nitrous so when im out it would just spray fuel and that would cause my car to back fire for like 2 days, so i would think somethings wrong until it stops and i get the bottle filled and its fine.
now im use to it and i dont even spray as much, i have a full bottle sitting in my car at the moment........waiting for a mustang 5.0 or something to roll up on me....lol

to my knowledge theres only 2 folks running nitrous here, me and Busted, so welcome to the nitrous accord fam....lol

i'm going turbo but would like to learn all there is about NOS. I know a bit but i don't understand the nos additives like a bottle warmer and such...can somebody do a NOS 101 thread for me?
Knowledge is power...in EVERY sense of the word

as for the bottle warmer, its need to raise the pressure inside the bottle.
if the pressures not at the proper level, when you spray you will not get the full patential from the nitrous.

like its mostly used when its cold out side.
if its cold my bottle would normally be at 400psi. ideal pressure is 900-930.
so u turn the bottle warmer on and for mines it takes like 20minutes to warm it to this pressure.
if i was to spray at 400psi, i wouldnt really notice that much power as if i had it at 900psi.

also when warming ur bottle you would want to make sure the bottle is open.

<sigh> Well.... you've got a few things here you need changing on.

First... your ignition timing, You don't retard ignition timing with a cam gear. That retards cam timing and you don't want that. Get the cam gear out of you mind until the nitrous is properly dialed in.

A direct port kit on your engine will be fine for a 75 shot. 50 would be better (safer) until you get a feel for laughing gas.

Injectors= Is you engine otherwise stock? Then you don't need them.

FPR= Why do you want to increase fuel pressure? You don't ned it.

Walbro 255 lph pump= This is a good idea even if you don't use it to it's potential. Since you will be running a wet nitrous system that injects fuel on it's own you'll want there to be enough fuel supply to make sure you don't run lean.

Retarding ignition timing, I suggest for this you buy one of those MSD modules that retards ignition timing only when the N20 is spraying. This allows you allot of tunability, exact adjustment of your time (no fooling with a timing light), and maintains off N20 driveability.

Make sure you have a good free flowing intake and also a good free flowing exhaust. No Stock piping with a muffler welded on shit. No exhaust leaks, none of that. You need yourself a good quality exhaust to get the exhaust out as quickly and calmly as possible.

Don't go reinventing the wheel and doing 11 things at once, that will cause one hell of a migrane. Take your time and do everything step by step and most importantly conserativly. If you play it safe you can only get faster, If you get crazy with it and start running setups you don't know about you'll most likely burn up the engine and not be very fast at all.

Well in my post I said that I would have pretty much every bolt on plus some other goodies. By the time I spray in about 2-3 months I will have:
CAI, header, full exhaust w/ test pipe, cam, p&p intake manifold and throttle body, UR pulleys, clutchmasters lightweight flywheel and stage II clutch, msd ignition/blaster coil, nology ignition wires, and probably some other crap I'm forgetting.

The fpr isn't just for the nitrous set up. I want to get my car tuned with the Hondata and have it running properly before I run the nitrous. I'm just asking about the fuel items because from what I've heard/seen nitrous will make you run lean especially in larger shots which would be why people need fuel cells and all. Don't give me too hard of a time this is my first car I've ever had nitrous on so... I know a decent amount about it, but I'm just double checking on stuff to make sure I don't leave anything out. I'm still not sure about running a direct port set up.... I mainly wanted to do it because it seemed more efficient, and I plan on turboing after I build my engine so I thought it would be better. So what do yall think... would it be best to go with the direct port set up? I had no idea about the timing thing so good thing I asked .... what msd ignition should I get then?

Direct port is always best but more costly. If you go with a single fogger system you'll be fine. Nitrous only makes your engine run lean if it's improperly tuned. Look on MSD's websidte for the different modules. They have serveral to choose from. And they install pretty easily.

ahahah man someone gave me crap about that on another board too. That is not my rental and those aren't my girlie hands in the pictures either lol. Those aren't my cat in the hat sheets either. My girl, well ex girl kinda lives in my room right now, and I had her take some pictures of the purge valve for me because I'm away at college right now.

I pretty much decided that a direct port kit is out because I'm cheap, and I don't really think it's necessary. Wet kits also seem like a little bit of a hassle so I was wondering would it be alright to run a 75 shot off a dry kit? I know you can and people say that it's safe and all.... I'm just wondering if it's really worth dropping the extra money on a single fogger set up because people seem to say that both shouldn't be used above a 75 shot so it kinda makes me think that they are about the same safety wise.
