front sway bar yes or no?

ok, im i little confused on this situation. i want to get sway bars, but ive read mixed opinions on get both front/rear aftermarket sway bars or get a rear and leaving the stock front. so can u tell me which way our cars handle better? i want to start auto-x and want to set up my car for the best handling. Thanks

looks here my opinion. first install the front or rear and see how u like the car. S/T makes the set. thats the best option right now. instead of buying each one u got a set but for me i went with the S/T front and PROGRESS REAR. i did that was cuz i felt that the rear end of our cars are loose to i got a bigger.

i just got a progress rear and love it, i was told by a local honda performance shop here said that the fronts on our cars were already big and going any bigger would give huge understeer....or oversteer i cant remember which. for me i just wanna keep the ass from drifting out, dont want the front to.

this what i heard can anyone state if thats true or not. it seems like all the guys with cars that r pretty much "complete" (no offense to anyone, oneoffaccord, 604_cb7,timmy0tool) have both bars replaced with aftermarket and i know both timmy0tool and 04_cb7 do some auto-x. so does it really cause more understeer?

I have the Progress rear only and love it.

BUT, I actually feel unsafe when I REALLY push it through the corners. I FEEL like the front sway will snap.

If you're going into auto-x, get the full set.

            its true.

the front sway bar makes it "harder" for the front to steer (even though all it does is control body roll). by putting a bigger bar on it just increases that difficulty.

            hopefully that makes sense...

Really? I have hit some pretty intense mountain/valley runs and one auto-x and never felt like that.

Do you have polyurethane endlinks up front?

I have new OEM links up front. the LCA has poly bushings tho, if it makes a difference.

                    Yes

It most definitely made a big difference. I take 180 degree entrance/exit ramps at like 50 mph now.

The only difference between OEM front sway bar and ST front sway bar is that OEM is hollow, while ST is solid. I believe both are 26mm thick. Some people say that lower model 4th gen has smaller front sway bar..I have LX (DX for US) and I also have 26mm front sway bar, so who knows. But yes, that is the only difference between stock vs. ST, one is hollow and one is solid.

I guess everything depends on your driving style. I leave my front one stock and got myself a Progress RSB, and the difference is huge. Some people say that using ST front sway bar gives you a better turn in, I had one back when I had a 5th gen, and I personally didn't like it, so I took it off and have been running stock front sway bar since..

but then again, my goal is to reduce understeer as much as possible. When I had ST front sway bar on, I felt that I couldn't corner as well compared to running the stock one.

So rear sway bar is definitely a must, while the front is personal preferences IMO. Hope that helps..

funny, i was just reading ur post on this in another thread! well if all this is true, i really dont want any more understeer, so i guess ill start with the rear and see what happens. also has anyone other then 604_cb7 ran a floor bar?

StickyDilJoe ran one, I know that much. Not much info on those unfortunately. I would love to see/hear more about how they fit and help out.
