What's up people. In about 2 months I'll be able to buy myself a good set of coilovers. I was thinking about getting TeinSS-P for a while but I just discovered some new set I've never heard before like D2 Racing, Megan and Tokico Illumina. I was wondering if any of these sets are just as good as the TeinSS-P? They're all a little cheaper and would be worth it if they were just as good. I really neec coilovers with height and the damping adjustable because of the various crappy roads we've got here. I'm also very fussy and would probably play with the height so anything that's a mix of shock absorbers and lower springs aren't good for me. If anyone has tried any of these or know other ones that are good please let me know. Thanks

They dont have dampening. The Function over Forms are nice. They come with 3 diff spring rates when one of the cali members was having a group buy. I regret not getting those. I would have preferred those over my tein basics anyday. I dont like soft spring setups. Good for cruising but fail for track use. I also dont like it because I dont have it to where I wanted my car to sit. I want lower but the fronts are bottomed out. I find it retarded that tein makes the rear go lower than the front of the car.Originally posted by quickangel93they have both. thats why i think personaly their better than fuction over forum 2

Yes but the basics don't have adjustable damping and what the fuck is about the rear being lower than the front? That's indeed retarded but I remember checking the height adjustment for the SS-P and the front can be lower as low 3.3 inches while the back can only be lowered 2.5 inches.Originally posted by NAiL05They dont have dampening. I also just checked for the basic kit and it's supposedly the same so I don't see what you're talking about.

Well when I installed it I could crank the rear lower than the front. It would look like your rear sags. Anyway the diff between the SS and the basic is the shock. Its 1kg stiffer thats it. The spring rates are the same. The rears sit a bit lower when you bottom them out. Thats from what I could see. I think my rears are on about halfway? I forgot where I left the adjustment. But then I just did this on the lift I might need to double check. The front is bottomed out and from what I see it doesnt really look like 3.3 in. But then I had Sprint Blues on my car before which dropped it 2.5" with the rear saggin a bit. I need to lower my rear about another half and inch anyway ill see how much lowre it can go whenever I get the chance.

Yea the Tein's are ok. I thought they were going to be stiffer but it is comfortable. I have the ss version umm there ok don't think they are worth what I paid though. The adjusting is crazy too, my rears are low about bottomed out and the front is about 3/4 the way down but still needs to be evened out a little. Rear is sagging a bit. Also maintain the locks on the coilover every once in a while or they will get really tight with dirt and grime and so hard to unlock especially with those awkward wrenches they give you. I personally liked my drop on my other accord better with GC's and GR-2's. It sat perfect but a little more camber though.

Ok so I just got 2 bad reviews about Tein. What adjustable height and damping coilovers would you then recommend over Tein? Were you GC's height and dapming adjustable? What I basically need is to lower my car but to get something stiff but comfortable enough so that my car doesn't bang on the ground everytime I drive in a pothole. That's why I would like something that's height adjustable to experiment but also damping adjustable.Originally posted by jchsmileyYea the Tein's are ok.
