There a good setups that are cheap. None of them consist of stock shocks though. Koni street shocks are the best bang for the buck, and are cheap. Pair those with a decent lowering spring, and you have yourself a 2 inch SAFE drop, for no more than 450.
There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

just search for "JDM ULTRA STIFF GRIP FERRARI MODEL TYPE-R CB7 Coilovers". Anything thats more than $50 is not good.

But seriously, make sure you read the reviews of anything that you are about to buy. Also do some research (that means Google research) of what other options you have, $$$ and durability. you should be good

Stuff in blue is me being SARCASTIC. Realize that bro.

i think it should be against the rules to suggest ebay quality suspension parts.

to the OP. dude. i know you want to drop your CB. i remember i wanted to drop my CB and i didnt have $600+ to spend on suspension. i cheaped out and got some ebay coilovers. slapped them on and my CB was slammed. but one day the strut blew while i was on the highway. i didnt hear it. just heard some knocking around in the back.

i went to switch lanes and went a little too far and hit the rumble strip on the side of the highway and it felt like the rear right tire wasnt even there. the car fish-tailed and i almost t-boned another car. from that day forward i told myself i would NEVER use those sleeves again. that day i got home and ordered a new strut and some name brand lowering springs. dont put your life and others at risk because you want to look cool.

if you want your suspension dropped that bad, at least buy some lowering springs from Skunk2, TenzoR, or Dropzone. they'll give you a good drop, decent ride and wont blow your struts. THIS i know from experience. ive had all three and none have blown my OEM struts. then save up to get some decent struts. that will run you at the very LEAST $200-$250. one of my car club members has some Ebay coilovers with some KYB GR-2s and LOVES the ride. he's not slammed but has a decent drop. but he does still want some better sleeves tho.

save up and get a decent suspension set up.

I read it. You'll be driving a very dangerous vehicle for 2 months. If you plan on putting those cheap coils on it and parking it until you swap in the good stuff... go for it. It'll be nice to look at.

Dropzone is garbage. I have personal experience with that company... and the fact that I nearly crashed due to their trash failing on me is one of the reasons I am so adamant about telling people to get quality parts. DO NOT get Dropzone. Ever. Terence, I might start banning for bad suspension suggestions... I know it's a dick move, but so many people give such bad advice, and it's dangerous for people to follow that advice! I don't care if people here blow their motors or ruin their car's appearance... that's fine. That's not dangrous. But suspension, brakes, etc... that's messing with people's lives. I don't EVER want to think that the information from this site was directly responsible for someone crashing.

It doesn't matter how fast you're going, or for how many months you're driving on that dangerous suspension. When a little kid chases a ball out into the street in 2 weeks, causing you to slam on your brakes... your wheels are going to hop off he ground, rather than gripping it... your car will not stop, and you will hit that child. But it was worth it to be slaaaaaaaaamed for cheap, right!?

Wait two months. Do it right.
I really hope your new springs and shocks don't consist of superstiff cheapie springs and OEM replacement shocks (or something close, like KYB GR2 or Tokico HP...)

I forgot you don't like DZ deev. But like I said, I'm going by experience. Just as you are. I had no issues with the lowering springs I had(ran them for a good 8months to a year) from them nor do any of the members who have their full body coilovers on hondasociety. As for their camber kits and other suspension components, crap.

Like its been stated. Wait the 2 months. Better to do it right and be happy than do it wrong and A) have to do it over again, B) get in or cause a wreck, C) kill someone or yourself.

true, my experience was with a camber kit.
Still, they're a crap company. A knockoff "ebay" company that has been around long enough to fool people into thinking that they're a legitimate quality brand. As far as I know, they use the cheapest possible materials, and poorly copy the designs of REAL products. They do no engineering of their own. I'd be willing to bet the springs used on their coilover sleeves are the same springs used in their kits for Civics, Integras, Preludes, etc...

If they want to put crap parts on and crash, let them. Natural selection.

If they were only going to kill themselves, I would... but there is a very real chance that other people might be in the car with them, or in the path of their uncontrollable CB7 missile. I've seen cars with halfassed suspensions rolling around with baby seats in the back.

For Christ's sake don't do it

You're gonna waste money + time getting cheap shit and put yourself at risk

You're gonna be slammed and not wanna spend the $$$ or time to do it all over again and ride on a shitty suspension forever

Just save up and get the right suspension once, don't be a fucking idiot

you can do whatever you want but it would not be smart if you are referring to new oem shocks
that would just waste your money b/c they will blow no doubt about it whether it is one week or one year

i remember when i lowered my sedan for 40 dollars using ebay coilovers and my struts blew within two months(i deliver pizzas so it was pretty quick). i told everyone "i don't know why anyone would spend over 700 to lower their car when i did it for 40"

yeah then the day came where my car was not taking any bumps the way they should and my cornering was worse than my stock springs.

then i bought tokico blues struts and springs package, made the car much more pleasant on the lower back and the cornering much more stable with no harsh rebound or weight transfer. good for a basic 1-1.5'' drop

then i decided to get some function&form type 1's b/c i really wanted to experience a full bodied coilover and i will say hands down it is well worth the money.

i haven't had the opportunity to drive with yellows and a quality spring
so i cannot vouch for them yet, but i have been in my brothers wagon with yellows and crap springs and the damper quality of them was noticeable but the springs were very soft and spongy like

                              here is a SIMPLE RULE:
                              1. If you ARE going to lower your car, YOU MUST buy a new set of shocks that will HANDLE the drop. It doesnt matter if you are going to drive it for 1 day or 1 year. Lowering = new shocks. OEM shocks were NEVER meant to be driven lower than they are. Period

                              2. Dont buy anything NONAME ebay shit. (That doesnt mean dont buy ANYTHING off ebay when it comes to suspension, because i got my tokico illumina and tein springs off ebay as well.) This is MADE IN CHINA bs. And i know everything is pretty much made in china now, but this ebay noname brands are fucking worst. All they do is, they take apart some aftermarket shocks, look at it, and rebuild it using their cheap shit quality stuff.

                              3. Think about it bro. These parts hold your car on the road. That means, 2700lb of steel is being hold by those 4 shocks. If these things fail at speed anything faster than 30+, you're fucked. You think 2 months is a long period of time? Dude, i've been working on my cb7 for almost a year now. I spent most of the time reading and learning about whats good whats bad for my car, here on this website. Wait, and you will be rewarded.

I felt the same was you man, ive had my cb for lil over 2 years now, and i just recently slammed it the other week. I went into the shop looking for some skunk2 springs and i was gonna just wait to get the shocks, but in the back of my head i knew it was a bad idea. The guys at the shop told me it would be so much better to just do it right the first time, which is true.

i ended up spending another 300 for some F&F Type1's and dude, i couldnt be happier. Just be patient, and do it right the first time bro. you'll be happier that way
