    17x9's & 235/40's.. Offset Question!

So i plan to squeeze 17x9's under my CB7 in an attempt to put power to the ground.
And i have a set of brand new Falken RT615's in 235/40/R17 ready to be used.

As far as ride height goes.. I have a 1" wheel gap F+R and i'm not changing the height for nobody.

From reading around on this forum i know that 17x9 is a very big wheel for a CB7.. But it's easily possible to fit!
And rolling/pumping/pulling/flaring/etc the guards is a must and i will take care of that too.

So my question is, what offset can i have on a 17x9's to be as far inside the guard as possible without hitting any suspension components?
This way i'll be able to get away with as little guard-work as possible hopefully.

Any and all help much appreciated

You can use a wheel offset calculator like the one in the link. You will need to stretch the fenders, if not cut them and add fender flares.

Which wheels are you planning to run on? You mention that you want to put more power to the ground. But did you consider the added weight of a larger wheel and tire combo will add?

That's the Calc i always use.. But it doesn't really help my question.
I can't actually measure my guard clearance because some of my suspension is currently not on the car.
A few people on this forum say +20 works for them.. But others have said up to +35? I'm looking at around +25 but i can't be certain.

More than likely, 17x9 WORK Emotion XT7's.
So they're alot lighter than the current 17x7's i have on the car.
With 300+ HP a few KG is easily outweighed by the traction gain imo

Just measure between the plane of the hub and the knuckle. Get creative with some sheet metal and tape measure
There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a pair of 17x9s on the back of my accord. The offset was +38, very minimal rubbing of the tire with a 225/45 and stock camber settings. No inner rubbing at all.

Well i've looked around a bit more, ended up going with the 17x9 +25.

So when they rock up i might just post a pic! Haha
