    types of coilover height adjustment

Im looking into getting a full coilover set. I been searching and i keep finding coilovers that are height adjustable by threaded spring seat, and adjustable by threaded shock body. What is the difference between them and which ones are better?

You can not say one damper is better than the other just because of the way the threads are designed. It's too many variables at work.

I would pick the threaded shock body every single time, all else being equal because it's one piece and not just just a slip on sleeve.

So if you lower the car by lowering the spring seat, then does that mean you are lowering the spring position? Does that reduce travel length on the shock like if it was compressed like the coilover sleeves?

Like how the Koni yellow has an adjustable spring perch? Yes, you are lowering the spring. More importantly you are lowering the point where the spring and the chassis reach equilibrium which means that you'll lower the chassis too. Instead of the almost infinitely adjustable threaded perch, you have preset levels.

Any time you lower the spring on the shock body, you reduce shock travel. There are ways to gain back travel such as using a shorter shock body and extended top hats.

Thank you for all the help. Now i made my decision, im gonna get tein mono flex coilovers with threaded shock body so the travel of the shock isn't reduced.
