well i got some konis and theyre for 94-97 accord. i got the 94-97 bumpstops with them. the actuall bumpstops were already altered. they had like 1/4 off or soemthing not really measured. but installed the bumpstops and struts seem to be very hard when i hit a bump. even on the softest setting a bump will make my whole interior rattle. sould i have used the 90-93 bumpstops (they 4th gen are smaller then the 5th gen) or kept the 5th gen but not have altered one? do you have to cut them? my ride is 2.25 inches low on sprint springs.

well the ones i had stock in my car normally were way smaller then the 5th gen. i remember about cutting the bumpstops and all but i dont seems to be a very harsh and hard ride. another Q where you actually place the bumpstop? the strut rod has a sorta ring...do you set the bumpstop on that or push it all the way down till it gets inserted in the "ring". you know what im talking about hehe?

Sorry about taking so long to reply, heres a illustration of our strut assembly.

The bumpstop is circled in red, the blue highlighter markings was for my info. Im also not really sure what your talking about, but hopefully you can figure it out from the pic.Hittin Switches - Draggin XhaustAlways Under Construction

i know where the bumpstop goes but the actual strut rod has a sorta bump or ring around it. i was wondering if you just lay the bumpstop on that ring and you pushed it all the way down till the bumpstop get stuck on that ring. gosh i was i had a illustration. well we can use yours ....so you where the bumpstop is at ok now look at the rod..so see where theyre is a change in the width of the rod. there do you just set the bumpstop there or slide it all the way down past is it or keep it in the middle.

Well I found my old AGX instuctions and remembered that the struts included these nut/washers (not really sure what their called but they look like a nut but functions as a washer...?) and the instructions shows that peice being placed where the strut rod changes in diameter, then about that is the bumpstop. I hope I wrote this clear enough for you to understand. Good luck on it.

ok you when on the rod there and in the pic there is a little bump well it looks like a black ring but thats the bump im talking about. yu slide the bumpstop from the top and just place the BP on the ring, or pushed it past that ring or push it till that ring is covered? get what im saying now? im just talking about the placement of the bumpstop on the actual strut.

Hermmm....I always though the bumpstop always goes down to the bottom of the strut rod? All the bump stop should do is act as a cushion to make sure metal to metal contact between piece number 4 and piece number 10 in your illustration. If the bumpstop was all the way up on the 'ring' of the rod, there would be NO suspension travel, which would make for a ride which seemed you're riding on wood blocks.
Just put the bumpstop all the way down on the rod. (and follow the instructions that came with the kit...I'd think you cut the bumpstop since aftermarket struts usually have a shorter length than stock, so there's already less suspension travel.

ok yea thats the dilema i was having..should i slile the bumpstop all the way down or just leave it at the top or in the middle. so you should just all the way at the bottom huh? sounds reasonable..cuz yea man when i hit a bump hard i mean it feels like i have no struts. feesl like there is no travel. welp im going to try it fuck it. thanks.
