    Rear Lower Tie Bars

    Rear Lower Tie Bar
A lower tie bar is designed to reduce the lower control arm flex by tying the two LCA's together. This stiffens the rear by transmitting the load of each opposing LCA during cornering via tension and compression of the tie bar
On our cb7s, the lower tie bars are really only for looks as the rear suspension geometry at the two points doesnt allow for much flex at all.

Why dont they work on accords but do on civics?

Here is a picture of a tie bar on a cb7:

Here is one on a civic:

On the civic, you can see that there is the gap between the two mounting locations for the LCA(Lower Control Arms). Since there is a gap, when cornering, those points can flex. But if you look at the accord one, that is filled, and both ends are already connected. So there is very little flex to start out with, and the tie bar is purely for looks. I will admit they do look good though when you can see them.

What brands are out there, how much do they cost, and what do people think about them?

The difference between all of the brands is purely price and looks. They all connect to the same place, and offer slim to none extra rigidity.
