    Tokico v. KYB

I am lookin for some new shocks.... j/w if any1 here can give me the layout on which r better, im not lookin for JUST opinions, some would be nice, but it'd be nice if some1 had some fact sheets....

im not lookin for adj. just some regular gas shocks....

ive felt them both, but they were with diff. springs... so please any input would be nice

They're both basically replacements for stock shocks. I'd at least step it up to AGXs.

even if they are "stock replacements" 99% of the time they are better anyway. but i would have to recommend agx's myself. all about ride quality preference.

Ok, so KYB AGX, or Tokico HP?
the tokico's are actually a little cheaper on ebay.
either way right around $250-280 shipped.
and where is the best way to buy tokico's or HP besides ebay, is there a physical retailer that sells these?

Do you have any local performance shops where you live?

ive priced them through my friends shop, and ebay was cheaper. ebay was also cheaper than any website i found.

and dont compare the agx to tokico hp. it would be hp vs. gr-2 and illumina vs. agx. if youre deiciding between the hp/gr2's, it doesnt really matter... like evryone said, theyre basically a stock replacement. a step up would be the agx's, which you should definetly consider. but if price is an issue, count out the illuminas, they are going to cost more.

                agx's, $290 shipped <----- gett'em

modacar.com sells them for $359, and thats probably before shipping.

I think KYB is junk. Ive tried them and would never even consider them again.

koni or tokico's are the way to go.

ok Ive had Tokico Illuina's and loved them but it was on a 95 stang so cant compare , the HPs had then with Neuspeed Sports on a 95 Jetta and liked em , the GR-2's are said to be stock replacement , Tokico HP is NOT a stock replcement they are Far better than GR-2's Just not Good as AGX or Illumina , Im Kinda annoyed with people saying GR2's are Same as HP's as this is False in everyway shape and form ive had em both and GR2's are Plain Jane Hp's have much better rebound and ride quality is great, END Rant

Good luck Picking ultimatelly its your decision and u might like something different than everyone else , but bounce is no fun and GR2's BOUNCE badly , even on my little 95 Civic

IMO, the Tokico HP blue shocks ride a bit stiffer than stock. You feel bumps in the road more, etc. The Tokico HP fit up nice, like stock and were all in good-working order when I got them.

EBay is the cheapest I've seen from all my online sources for these. I rather get the Tokico HP over KYB GR-2.
