    help a noob out..

i know you guys hate these "whats the best" questions, but here it goes anyway..

so im thinking about dropping my car and getting some rims, but i dont wanna waste too much money on a car that already has 160k miles on it..

so what would be a good lowering option for me? i dont care too much about increase in performance, i'd just like to get my car looking nicer. i think i'll be getting 17's if i do this at all, so would a 1.5" drop look good with those size rims, or should i go lower? i dont want to go too low because there are some nasty streets/driveways around LA.

and what are some decent low-priced springs i should look into?

finally, i dont really trust myself to install anything except the rims so what is an average price for installation?

here is my car as it is currently (bone stock except for sounds):

I'm on 17's and down a little more than 1.5" and it looks really good. Problem right now is that it's on cheap coil overs and it rides like shit. Get something decent when you lower it and don't be too cheap. Your back won't like it much, and your passengers won't like it even more.
