    arm-can upper control arms? decisions!!

my upper ball joints are completely worn out and very loose. im not going to drive the car until i get them replaced. my upper control arms are both bent (hitting inner fenders) and otherwise gross looking, but i have ingalls adjustable anchors so those are good.

i need new control arms and ball joints without a doubt... and im having trouble making up my mind. the only definite requirement is that what i get needs to end up being brand-newish clean.

heres my two options, that i can think of:

    a) get ebay arm-can upper control arms (just for the brand new arm itself), keep the ingalls anchors (set back to centered), and SPC balljoints

    b) find a set of used straight OEM upper control arms, strip them clean and paint them, and get spc balljoints

    or

    c) get new OEM arms&balljoints, use the ingalls anchors, and leave it at that.

    ---

im assuming the weak point of the ebay control arms are the balljoints, i would guess that the main arm would be fine or would it be more worthwhile to just spring for full new OEM arms, and continue using the ingalls camber kit.

it appears that the SPC balljoint camber kit's shape would help reduce contact between the arm and the inner fender, as the arm wont sit as far out anymore, and the balljoint slopes downward as it moves out... thats why id like them instead of the ingalls kit.

    thoughts? suggestions?

your anchor kit wont fit the armcam, they have a diffrent size bushing.

Edit: i have a set of arms(armcam) but one ball joint is messed up (2-3 threads) but they never got used, and i have the brand new bushings with them that fit. if you wanted to put the ingalls in that i would give them to you.

well thats not a big deal, since grinders take care of that :P i forgot to mention that i have an ES bushing set, so i have new urethane bushings & sleeves if i were to use stock anchor bolts.

as of right now, i think im going to get those armcan arms from you, use stock anchors with the ES bushings, and get SPC balljoints.

the anchor kit will fit the arm-can control arm itself, Im running it that way. The weak part I know of is the boot, and possibly the arm, but I have not compared it to a genuine Honda one, but it seems kinda week.

well we know their lower ball joints break easily, ill stay under the assumption that the upper balljoints and anchors have potential to break just as easily. short of bending, i doubt the arm itself could break or split ive dealt with ebay UCAs before, they resemble stock ones, you can just tell they were stamped out a little more cheaply...

if i can get GreenMadness' arms, im going to buy bmxicansd's balljoints and ill decide between either OEM anchors w/ the poly bushings, or just keeping my ingalls ones installed.

I'd prob rather just get some old stock ones off a junkyard car

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

I think i said it backwards in the PM arm cam are the smaller bushings, and smaller holders.

Hey, i wasn't sure if i should have sent these via PM or just post them.

Here are the arms i just took these

Here is the width, its 1 1/2'' and the inside width of the armcam is 1/16'' bigger

Not to take away a sale or anything but why would you get the arm-can ones if you're replacing the ball joint and anchor bolts? Just cause it's a new clean part?

I got my uppers from deevs old car and put in the ES bushings and wasn't too worried about the balljoint cause I'm getting the SPC ones. So same situation I guess. Definitely use your ES bushings and supposedly the balljoint camber kit method is better than anchor bolt style and it solves the problem of shitty balljoints anyways.
