Re: tein type ss or tein basic?
Both would be fantastic, but if your pushing your suspension to the max, or want the ultimate control over your ride comfort, the SS is going to be great. I would do a little more research into full coilover systems, not putting down on the SS, but I think there are cheaper options available that are as good.Originally posted by 92accordlx

How about my Skunk2 Coilovers (560lb/in spring rates) with Koni Yellows for $500??? Much better than those two Tein's that you have listed.

Skunk2's are stiff like whoa! I used to own some, and I couldn't stand the ride. Of course I had them almost all the way down on AGX's (bad idea) and it rode horribly. I don't know how much better they would ride on yellows. If you really want a stiff suspension, it will be perfect.Honda-Tech Username: Lostcb7

Just so you know the Tein SS has spring rates of 340f/280r with shocks matched to that.
Koni Yellows btw, can handle 500-600lb/in max, but with a revalve they can easily do 1000lb/in+91 4DR Accord LX White Auto

So are the Tein Basics pretty descent, b/c im looking into buying some within the next 2 weeks. I was gonna get the Apex'i WS setup until i saw that they were like 1000 dollars, i figured Tein would be my other best choice, i dont really want something really stiff, i want something with a good ride and figured the Tein basics would be good. Lemme hear some opinions on the Tein Basics from people that have them on their 4th gen accords.

The tein basics are great. They are softer, so they ride very nicely, but for auto-x applications they wouldn't be the best. It all depends on what you want to do with your car. If you plan on doing any auto-x or anything of the sort, look into a stiffer setup.Originally posted by vtec93accord

I just put my tein basic's on my car two days ago and slammed it down as far as it would go. I had the common problem with the cb7's of the control arm banging into the inner fender so I raised it up an inch and got my four wheel alignment done. I must say that the car, even with it sitting so low to the ground now, rides way better than stock, it's not rough at all and it the "ricer" bounce you get sometimes with springs or sleeve type coilovers is non-existent. The handling compared to before is absolutely phenomenal, there is no roll or lean compared to before I had them put on. I turn the wheel and the car doesn't pitch or lean or anything like that. However, the roads around here suck ass and when I hit a fairly deep pot hole, the control arms still hit the inner fender but that's nothing that a little grinding won't fix.
I basically got my tein's for the cosmetic appeal of slamming my car but they have improved the handling of my car 100%. They are perfect for everyday driving in my opinion. Just do yourself a favor, get the front and rear camber kits when you get the coilovers, you're gonna need em
. I'll post some pics of my car up here in a minute so you guys can take a look at the difference it makes. Also you get the added bling factor of the coilovers if you have open spoked wheels
Rogerrespect. You can't buy it.
