    Damn lower suspension bolt

    Just wondering if I sort of stripped my lower bolt on my suspension(the rear bolt) do I have to take it to a shop or should i just use PB blaster and try again? Also should a socket be used or a wrench?

      Once I take the car to the shop I dont want them to charge me to put the coil over kit on my car. Can i drive with it slightly lose or something? I only live down the street from the nearest shop. Or maybe make it lose enough so that when i get home i can take it right off.

        Which bolt are you talking about, there are 2 lower bolts in the front, a "strut mount bolt" and the "contorl arm to body bolt"... so by (rear) you could be refering to the most inner body-control arm bolt.

        If you mean rear suspension there are a ton of bolts that you could be talking about. if its the rear lower shock mount bolt how exactly did you strip it? did you round the head, or did you try to undo the nut that is welded to the strut... if you broke the welds the bolt will just spin. or is the nut just corroded to the inner collar on the bushing?

        ** NOTE: if you are working on any suspension you shouldn't be doing it with out PB blaster, unless the car is on the showroom floor... from experiance soaking everything you want to take off a day or 2 before you try it will make it ALOT easier on you.

          just take a screwdriver to it. i had the same problem when i was doing my suspension. that bolt in the bottom got stuck. i ended up just taking a screwdriver to it.

          put the screwdriver in the other side of the bolt hole and use a hammer to knock it out. NO it wont mess up the thread as long as your hitting the bolt.

              If its really stuck you may want to hit it with PB blaster about 3-4 times over the next 24hrs then try.

                    ST = 20 mm
                    Progress = 22 mm

                    Take your pick. All others are shit.
