    Brake Advice...if possible...

Well hoping some of the Brake Specialists/Guru's out there can provide some insight.

I am able to get my hands on a set of 2nd gen Acura RL Brake Calipers locally.

They are 4 piston and the rotors they are applied to are 12.6"

As I am sure custom bracket would need to be done, what else OR can this be done.

Yes with money, great things can be achieved. But again, looking for some insight/guidance as to WHAT ALL would need to be done for applying this to my 92 EX CB.

Off the top of my head I can think of a few issues.
    1. Would require a custom bracket for the calipers
    2. Redrilling rotors for 4 lug
    3. Dust shield would rub (easily removed)
    4. brakeline length might be an issue.
    5. brake feel/porportioning

You should start off by finding the measurement of the top hat on the RL rotor and comparing it to the CB. See if the rotor can even fit on the car without hitting anything (besides the dust shield). From there you can design the custom bracket. The way the RL calipers are mounted will allow you to offset the caliper instead of just spacing it out to accomodate a new rotor like other bbk kits (AEM comes to mind).

They use OEM parts, there a lot cheaper than aftermarket setups, more powerful and reliable than big brake kits, and require inexpensive replacement parts as well as access to any type of pad/rotor style. Its come to my attention that a lot of new Civic Si owners are looking for brake upgrades. So.... now I'm working on the biggest OEM upgrade ever. The largest OEM Acura brakes are from the new Acura RL, a whole 12.6" rotor, and a BIG pad. This uses an aluminum 4 piston caliper. For those of you with 17s and 18s, I am working on a custom bracket to fit these to our cars.

Here's the main event. Weighing in at just over 8lbs loaded, all the way from Advics....here he is...the Acura RL caliper!

      The 12.6" rotor

This is over an 11.8" rotor, redone to 4x100 (for older DX civics).

They will be available with the 11.8" and 12.6" rotors.

I aim to do a write up in the future, (as well as sell these as a kit), and retrofit them to my car. just FYI, this is bigger (and better) than the TL Brembo setup, it is not the same.

This setup has been completed in 11.8" and 12.6" form for 4x100. the ITR/Legend setup is still being tested.

This is the 11.8" form with the old civic DX knuckles, I don't have any mounted to a new civic knuckle, but I'll try and get some.

This is not a for sale thread, but if anyone is interested, PM me. These kits will be about a grand (unlike the aftermarket ones goin for 2-3k.) The 11.8" setup is being modded tomorrow. I expect to have this setup within three days. The 12.3" and 12.6" will be bolted together in about a weeks time.

The brackets have been tapped and I'm close to being done. Here is the brackets bolted to the caliper

      And what has been made.

      HERE IT IS!!!

This is an 11.8" rotor on a Civic DX knuckle and the RL calipers fitted with my custom bracket. If anyone is interested, all you have to do with the bracket, caliper, and rotors is get a pair of Civic DX knuckles from a 92-95 Civic (with ABS if yours has it so the Si with the 9.5" fronts) and you're set!

UPDATE: Now offering the hub-centering rings needed for this setup in 4x100 form, making it a complete setup.

UPDATE: The 12.6" and 11.8" 4 bolt forms are ready, but the 5x114.3 on the ITR/Legend are pending.

Hmm i'm starting to consider this upgrade instead of the legends. If he has brackets & brake lines to fit our cb7's i'm DEFINATELY going w/ this.

I have felt the AEM BBK on a CB and a CD and IMO felt like crap. Braking/stopping power was worse the the CB's oem brakes.

What's the point of posting that ridiculous comment?

There's always that 1 person that feels their voice/comment has to be heard.

Thats probably because its a brake kit made for race applications. During normal daily driving, the brakes don't reach the proper temperature, and thus will perform worse. Thats why drilled or slotted rotors aren't usually too great for DD'ing...and why too big of brakes can be a bad thing depending on the application.
There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

I can agree with that, but I was talking about the brackets and not the actual braking.
