    5spd to auto w/h22 swap

this point was brought up to me on another forum and i am just checking. in the write ups for the auto to manual, when it comes to the ecu all i recall seeing is just disconnect the tcu and your fine to run the auto ecu. what i don't recall seeing is that you have to take pins out the harness that used the auto tranny. is there any truth to this. my vtec hasn't worked since i did the swap. on the flip side i had a shop look into it and he thinks its my ecu/maps being off. the graph he showed me was all jacked up. he hooked it up to the dyno and did other stuff and he got vtec to kick in, forcing it tru all his lil gadgets and stuff. even though i am not tuned using hondata or anything else, the dyno read 130 hp and 118tq. wayyyy low for a i/h/e h22. oh and yes i ran thru the check down list on why vtec isn't working. only thing i haven't did was change the vtec pressure switch. car is in limp mode. revs out at 6500.

just disconnect the TCU, leave the auto tranny plugs disconnected, and follow the wiring guides in the sticky. unless you did something to mess it up, the VTEC wiring is entirely independant and shouldnt affect anything. youre running limp? so you have a CEL?

sweet. i was hoping i get you if not anyone else. no i don't have any cels. i even purposely unplugged the solenoid to make sure my cel light worked. i got code 21 i believe. i cleared the ecu and back to no cel. and no, i never changed anything once i disconnected the tcu. thats what strange to me. vtec worked fine for years til i did the tranny swap.

when my ecu went to limp mode= 6500 rev limiter, no vtec and fuel drop so rich that my around 10:1 a/f ratio really kill the power. You need to check for sign whwn or if you get a check engine light. I know for a while i do not get a check engine light even when my Ecu is in limp mode. try after warming up the engine and drive hard to see if you get a check engine and cel code. Maybe nothing is wrong with your vtec but the limped mode ecu is disabling vtec... check egr/tps/knock/... humm wait your sig say p72 on hondata, then you have a few sensor disable already. any way GL on your issue..

ok.. umm dumb question but you said in your first post that you still have the auto ecu right ?? if so you might want to try and use a manual ecu and see if that fixes it. i know they say you can use an auto ecu in a manual but i have seen where that is not true.... just try it to see if that does it.
