    H22's and ECU's???

Planning on dropping in my h this weeekend, had a chipped and converted p06 lined up but found out won't be able to get it for quite awhile. question is what ecu's can i use besides p06 and p13, what mods do they require, and what everyone prefers?

    p13 is it.

unless it a chipped and tuned ecu with vtec conversion.
    ie p06 ,p72,p28,etc...

well the p72 as iabs already and is vtec so no extra suff except chip it.
the p06 has no iabs and no vtec conversion
the p28 has vtec no iabs

and the stock p13 usually run rich but, works well.

all obd1 chipped ecu are really the same.
just need to be setup different for each to work.

but if you use a chipped ecu you NEED to get it tuned or it will run like crap.

i say get the stock one to start then if you get more mods/or turbo then up grade to chipped ecu/stand alone system.

IMO a chipped ecu (p28) with a basemap isnt a bad route to go. You may not get optimum performance out of it but the custom settings you can get make it worth it. ie vtec crossover, rev limit, speed limiter delete, 2step launch...etc

manged to get my hands on a virgin p06, and order a chip kit with vtec conversion, should be here monday. looking into getting a p13 now just to get it running and break in (rebuilt motor). then i can mess with the p06 later, got another h bottom end planning on doing a big n/a build on.

who can i ask about installing the chip kit? wanna have some knowledge when i drop it off.

wouldn't happen to have any pics, or diagrams? not to bad at wiring. done stereos, car alarms and around 200 remote starts. just need a diagram...

check out pgmfi.com there wikki has it all.

you need to know how to solder/de-solder
which isn't that hard, but good soldering irons are expensive.
