    help with swap

I have completed installing a h22 / auto tranny and everything has gone well up to this point. I am using a p13 ecu and tcu when i can't get the car out of park without putting a key in the shifter release. I have ran a wire from the grn/wht wire on the shifter switch to the A7 location on the TCU and I still can't shift out of park. Also i am receiving CEL codes 12 and 21. I ahve checked both the egr and vtec solenoid and everything appears to hooked up right. Anyone experienced these problems

Are you sure the pins on you ecu plugs are solid connections. Re-check all your wiring and see if your egr valve from the f series throws a code.

I rechecked the pins and they are correct, i plan to check the voltage on the vtec solenoid and pressure switch tomorrow after i get a voltmeter. on the plus side the egr CEL code is no longer flashing.

Hey n4red. I'm not that far in Covington. I just finished the same swap and I honestly forgot about that part with the shifter until it was time to start the car and was driving. I rode with the key in the shift lock for about a week then one day I took the key out and forgot it was out of the shift lock and was able to move the gear shift. Maybe my shifter is just different in some way but what I have found that if you put the key in the shift lock and then move the shifter to another gear, you can then take the key out of the shift lock. Just do not move the shift lever without pressing the button on the side to release the shift lever. Apparently if you move the shift lever w/o pressing the button on the side it locks in place. I have only had to use the key about 3 times since beginning of May. Kinda hard to explain but I drive my car everyday and don't ever think about it anymore. Coming to the meet on Sunday? I can show you.

Thanks Blue but I finally broke down and bought a test light and after spending about an hour test all the wires around the shifter I found the right wire to tab into. Now I just need to fix the CEL 21 problem.
