@ Boost_Lee, yeah man. The H22s look so good in cb7 engine bays. They actually look almost as good as precision gt3076s in our engine bays
@ jchsmiley, yah, if you can see your way through the mess that my garage is, its fairly cozy in there. We got lucky with the CRX shell being straight and basically untouched. Half the bolts and clips on the interior are missing though, hehe
@ DaGrk1, we're running 450 lb/in in the front and 650 lb/in in the rear. That combined with the fact that the h22 short block and tranny are only a combined 25 pounds heavier than a b-series block and tranny, I'm really not too worried about the H autocrossing. We'll see though. At this point, I'm most worried about the squish seated behind the wheel.

@ f22a4boy, thanks for the confidence in our work! The deal's that swaps never go smoothly, especially when your working on a specific car and swap motor for the first time. If its your own car and you have a spare car to drive while the accord's down, then its good. But if you're relying on the accord, or even worse, have to get back to AZ with the Accord, then its pretty risky. I've swapped the F22 in 3 or 4 times now, and I just barely got it running yesterday (waiting on engine mounts and the header).
So long story short, sorry, but I think I'll have to pass on the offer. Thanks for the confidence though! I think you might want to research a little more and then try it out yourself. It really makes the experience of driving the H better.
So I installed 4 new fresh engine mounts the other day, along with the DC header. The new engine mounts feel great compared to my old filled mounts. Not having my teeth rattled out whenever the car idled is fantastic.
The DC header looks pretty good. The fitment... not so much. It's really not a good fit at all.
As the downpipe passes under the oil pan, it's at a slight diagonal, width-wise. Basically one of the two runners is slightly above the other. This makes retaining the metal hanger on the back of the block impossible. And, if you DO use the metal hanger, the downpipe mating surface, between the header and downpipe, is at an angle such that the header WILL NOT slide on to the head bolts.
Furthermore, the downpipe flange to the cat is totally different than the ones on my H22 and F22 downpipes. I took it to two exhaust shops, one of which I know is very reputable. Both said that flanges like the DC header flange are fairly rare. One shop said they could get one, but it would take two weeks to special order it. I know the dude, so I'm sure he's not just pulling my leg.
Yeah... it's not all that I had hoped for.
