ok i didnt have spark monday nite. it sparked every now and then. ill start that shut down when every time i it the gas pedal.
i got a msd balster 2 coil and 8.5mm wires. so i dont need wires and a coil.
so today i changed the ignitor(ignition module) from a(used)f22a and used the new cap/rotor/ and i put new ngk plugs cuz i was there.
car didnt start. wanted to see if i could use the f22 ignitor and its the samething.
so i took it back out used the new ignitor and car started.
so conclusion i came is that: the ignitor is the power source to the coil. so u dont always thinkthat its the coil cuz it might not be.
the cap for the h23 is the same as the f22a. both have to be external coil. the internals for the both distrubtors are the same, the 2 differences are the mounts to both heads and that the h23 rotors screws on the f22 dont. every wire is the same.
so u can get the rotor/cap/ignitor for the h23/f22a just not the rotor.
hope that helps anybody with this swap (h23 in a 90-91) who dont have spark
