    h22 5 spd swap.

    hey guys,

When i swaped my tranny i went ahead and replaced the tranny seals and they are all the right part #'s,

i am curious, if i need to use the prelude half shaft instead of the accord.

Because i have a major leak of fluid that poors out of the left side/ also known as the driver side seal where the half shaft is placed into the transmission.

    any ideas would be appriciated.

my idea was maybe.. i got the wrong type of seal somehow even though it was in the right box and fit verry snugg when put in,, or my half shaft is to short and isn't locking in....?

It doesn't matter, it's more of a preference. If you use the accord half shaft then you have to use accord axels, if you use the prelude half shaft then you have to use prelude axels. There is no difference in length, most people use prelude shaft and axels, because the axels are a stronger and can handle more abuse than the accord axels.

        hmmmm,

so basically, since i have the accord half shaft and axles on the h22 it isn't my problem....

it has to be the seal?

Use the Accord Intermediate Shaft. If you use the Prelude Intermediate Shaft you have to do a hybrid axles.

Yes, the fluid leak would likely be the axel seal, when you replace the seal inspect the end of the half shaft before you reinstall it. If it has any damage to it, it may damage your new seal.

Not only that make sure that when you install the new axle seal its clear or debris aswell as tapping it in slightly tic- for tac with a piece of flat wood with a rubber mallet .

i did all that was metioned above...

i am curious if i was given the right seal instead of the left?

                are their differences between them?

From what I understand there is a difference in size for the left and right side seal.

Please let me know the outcome. I've had a MAJOR problem with my tranny leaking at the shaft seal.

^ you probably need to replace the shaft seal. did this just start happening? happen with a recently swapped motor?

I think that seal has some kinda spring on it to where it presses back on the shaft and properly seals it. I know we had the same problem with fatboys f20b. fucking greased my garage with royal purple..

                          found the problem,

I had a friend bring both sides, from 2 different companies.. we couldn't believe the difference in all of them. they were all visiable different with different diamiter holes,, we were lucky and out of the 4 their was 1 that worked.
                          and it fixed the problem...
                          thats just weird ya know.

                          thanx for the input.

                          this has been resolved.
