Nobody to my knolodge has done it on here, but I know for a fact that the H series and F series motors are pretty interchangable. Check these threads on ht.com for more info...

I have not done this, but I am going from what I've know & read and/or seen.

There is a post ths Zigen did on some guy from Honda-Tech mating a H23 head on a F23 block. The F23 block has a 86mm bore and the headgasket on it is very similar to the F22a1 headgasket (I've compared them side by side). There is one passageway that is blocked on the F23, that is not on the F22a1, it's on one of the corners. Also, the F22a1 has 85.5mm bore as opposed to the F23 having a 86.5mm bore on the headgasket. The H23 has a 87mm bore on the block, so the F22a1 block would have to be bored to 87mm or close to and I know the F22a1 has 3mm thick cylinder sleeves. This block bored to 87mm would leave you with 2mm thick sleeves (I'm not sure if that's strong enough for an all-motor build-up). You may have to sleeve, this is something a machinist would have to tell you.

Anyhow, if you could get a 87mm bore on the F22a1 block, everything else should work out. The kid that did the H23 on F23 block, had to plug up one passageway, or part of it...I forget. Also, piston clearance should be checked.

what i want to know is what has more horsepower capabilities when you swap the head, the h23 or the f22b head

We're getting ready to slap the F22B head onto our R-1 F22A6 soon. I just purchased the F22B head from PrimoCB7. After we give it a full build up, its going to be installed. Then everyone will have their write up.
