the reason why is because one of my buddy's has an h23 block that was just taken out of a prelude with 50k miles on it. the h22 head is off of my cousins friends moms prelude she got rear ended and pretty much let me get the head cuz her son wanted the block. but i want to know if it is worth the hastle on doing this swap. i have heard of it running better by just a little bit then an h22 but not sure.

maybe he wants to boost it, since the h23 block doesnt have that coating where the pistons are. FRM sleeves i think?

All H blocks have FRM sleeves.

              Larger displacement. Possibly lower compression.

Reliability will be an issue for someone that doesn't know what they're doing.

It's doable. It's been done. Personally, I'd rather have a full, reliable H22A.

It would be a low compression, stroked H22A. Yes, it would give minor gains over the H23. It could possibly still be faster than a stock H22 due to the stroke increase.

i am in the process of building one right now its coming along great and just use the h22 timing components and the the h22 headgasket you should not have any problems just read alot more about the build before getting to far into it man good luck with your build

I think it's more of an "I have all these parts available to me and want to see what I can do with them" issue

Sell both parts seperatly and buy yourself a nice H23A DOHC VTEC motor
                        They are actually very cheap
I think honda just went and combined the H23 block with the H22 head or was it the F20B head?

Those aren't really very good performance motors. The H22A is still the best bet for an easy swap.
