Knock sensor bad? ECU fried?

Ok, so I've been driving my swap now for a day and I have some problems...
I get a code 12(EGR Sensor) & 23 (Knock Sensor)
I'm going to try another EGR valve from a Vigor, see if it works.

But can a knock sensor go bad?
My engine really struggles down low, if I give it gas I kind of go slower

However 4.5K + the engine is a rocket, it sounds beautiful.

When I first plugged my P13 into my car, the ecu started smoking!
I freaked out and unplugged it and I found this.


My JDM ECU Looks exactly the same.

Is this the knock section of something?
Also will driving with the knock sensor bad hurt my motor?
When I put my JDM ecu in I get a surging idle....the USDM doesnt do this Why?
My car is guzzling gas, I've only driven it for a day and I'm almost through a tank of Premium. I've kept VTEC to a minimum aswell

What's the location/number of that? It's not the knock sensor. The knock sensor has it own board, towards the upper right of the ecu, that small board you see. You could rip it out if you wish, but you'll have to resolder R118 and R119 into R142, 143. Then, remove R101. No more knock sensor.

Or just get a chipped p28 and get rid of both the Knock sensor and EGR b.s. Then you can add 2 step and shift light and later down the road have that ECU tuned if need be.
