pull spark plug wire off spark plugs and engine dies

whats up ok im confuse now so now im asking you guys. so the car ran find until last week. i filled my car with 97 octane gas. drove the car about 10 miles and park it for about an hour. got back in the car and the car sputter and cut off. couldnt get the car to crank until it sat up for a couple of hours and with the help of starter fluid. the car ran but still sputter so i gues it was the fuel problem. so i drain the gas tank change out the fuel pump and filter. why i was at it i did a complete tune up. i replace the spark plugs, wires, etc. crank the car back up and still had the same problems. i live next door to a shade tree mechanic and he came over and pulled my spark plugs wires off one by one. when he got to the 3rd and 4th wires the engine stumble and cut off. he said that my plugs wasnt hitting. so we test the plugs and im still getting fire. so thinking it could be a dizzy related problem replace it. i still have a problem so what could be wrong. also the mechanic said i could lock the motor up if i sprayed alot of starter fluid into the intake. is that true. please help and im not getting a cel. thanks

yo man 1st off buy the haynes manuell to the car. 2nd check all your ground wires and pull the plugs to see if they have oil in them, thats a common startin problem with cb's
if there is oil in there then clean it out and the car should start. 3rd make sure that you wires are in the correct fireing order. the manuel will aid you with that or go to auto zone and they can print it out for you. 4th if that dont work then u fuked lmao later
