    h23 vtech swap questions

i have a 93 ex i am going to swap in either an h22 or ? i have found a good deal on a jdm h23 "bluetop" vtec. with an obd1 hondata s200 chipped ecu. the engine is from a 1998 jdm accord sir i am told. are there any major problems im going to have if i pick this up? i am unable to find any good info on the motor, i am told the head is the same as an h22, and that i can use h22 cams etc.. i am not sure has anyone used this motor with any good or bad news. thanks, and yes i know its vtec not vtech not really sure why i typed that. probably from seeing all my kids toys.

It's very similar to the OBD2 H22... but honestly, I would get the H22. The difference isn't considerable, and if you need replacement parts that AREN'T shared with the H22 on that H23, you might have a hard time getting them.

is that a considerable amount of parts? a friend of mine is moving away and owes me a very little bit of money, (300.00) he has this motor, t2t4 tranny and the chipped p28 ecu, i am kinda thinking at the price just the tranny is worth it, the on ly thing i need is a clutch, if i can find one, i guess if something happens to the motor i could just buy an h22 then, am i correct in assuming if i do the swap for this the h22 will drop right in if needed?

Is there anything weird about a motor that came originaly with an auto tranny? It has a 5 speed with it but they have never beeen mounted together the motor came from an auto car, I don't know if that will cause any problems or not but would like to make sure before I install it, I am gonna take them as it only 300 but I am considering using the tranny and selling the motor on e bay. Still not sure,

Works great man, you just need to buy a flywheel, manual flywheel bolts, pressure plate, clutch. That converts the engine to manual.
                My JDM H22 started automatic.
