okay so heres my problem , i have a h22a automatic that i just put into my cb and its running very very rich , i just replaced the 02 sensor with a bosch < this is only a temporary fix as i well be getting a oem one within a few weeks , also when i start the car it well idle at roughly 500-600 rpms. and if i drive it and i press the gas slightly the rpms well drop and the car well almost die but if i press the throttle to about 3/4th of the way down it kicks in like noting was wrong. im guessing it might be something to do with the timing on it. ive done alot of research on it but cant really find something like this. ive changed the timing on it a few times and theres quite a few white marks on the flexplate. i havent pulled the valve cover off yet to see where the cams are set. i have someone coming to look at it in a few days that owns a prelude but i just thought id ask on here to see what people thought is could be?

Running "very, very rich" does not help the engine's driveability. Why is it doing this? That may take care of your bogging issue.
Also, you imply that you went ahead with installing this engine/tranny setup without setting idle, ignition or physical timing? Please say it isn't so....obviously you should look into confirming all this was properly done, but first it appears you don't even have that information available. So seek it soon.
Frankly, you should have prioritized more appropriately, if you literally just swapped in this setup without prior work.

as far as the car running rich i dont really know why it is. and that is one thing i am trying to figure out. when i put the motor in i went ahead and set the timing from the flexplate and the mark on the distributor being at spark plug number one. i tryed to find the marks on the crank pulley but i couldnt find them. i didnt just throw the motor in and call it a day.Originally posted by HondaFan81 View PostRunning "very, very rich" does not help the engine's driveability. Double check the Timing light matches between both marks on the 15BTDC mark.
OBD1 H22 isnt going to have timing marks on the crank pulley.
If you have the timing set on the TDC mark, this can cause your issue.
Also, Ive done it before, when you set the timing and pull the pin out of the adjuster, the timing will move about 1 tooth off when it rotates.
But you would think being 1 tooth off wouldnt be bad, I mean adjustable cam gears let you do this.
