What's involved is pulling the motor apart taking the crank and rods out inspect all bearings replace bearings.

DIY would be cheaper if you plan to rebuild the motor from the ground up

    headgasket
    waterpump
    timing belt
    balancer belt
    tensioner's
    Cam,crank and rear main seals
    Valve cover gasket kit
    exhaust and IM gaskets

etc. Lets say thats 400 in parts and doing it yourself

Depending where you live part price's vary

A shop price range could be 550-1500

I just had the same problem. For me the whole bottom end was trash, I spun one main bearing and all four rod bearings.

If you spin a main the block and crank is trash, if you spin just a rod then the rod and crank will be trash.
