a p13 is the computer that is supposed to come with the h22's, but yes the p28 wil work and give you more options down the road for tuning.

Also not to huijack the thread or anything but would anyone happen to know the exact differences between an auto ecu and a manual ecu? Is is possible to use a manual exu in an auto car?

i can vouch for bustedlx. with p28 you can get hondata if you dont wanna go uber. but uber with h22 on this site is still in its infancy. if i had an h22 id go with the p28...

When I got my H22 it came witht he P13 ECU... The car ran 'OK' but there is a really annoying speed limiter on the JDM p13... 180km/h and you're cut off!! Hehe just when u hit VTEC in 5th on the highway at 175km/h the fuel gets cut.
Now i have a chipped p28 from a civic... the car feels like it woke up on acceleration and runs much better.. Also no more speed limiter... i put my speedo. arrow completely down to about 250km/h and i was only at 7,300rpm with still room to go... but the car felt all loose light it was gonna fall appart.

                I can get u a chip for a p28

My CB7 is now ***FOR SALE***

Well I was curious of what the differences are since I see all these tunning options only available for manual transmissions such as the aem ems and such. So if it was possible to use a manual ecu so I could be open to those options down the road. I have a vafc2 right now and its working good for now and helped me get 184whp. When i bigger cams and header I would like to be able to fine tune the motor better later on.
wow sorry that was a long winded post lol

You can run a manual P28 for example with an Auto however it does pose some problems with the shift lock from what I've heard.

Now for me to ask a question...... You got 184whp out of a stock H22A with common bolt-ons and a V-AFC.... oh yeah and with the parasitic loss of an automatic transmission?

I will prolly just wait and convert to a manual but thats good to know i could get the tunning options if I wanted.

As for the 184whp, it was on a dynapack so subtract about 5 or so hp but yes I was also surprised by the numbers.

Well Dynapaks by default are designed to give flywheel hp that's there method of correction so for an auto you'll have to subtract quite a bit more then 5 or so hp but the numbers are consistant none the less.
