I am wondering if the jdm harness that is coming with my swap package will work w/o modification. And also what code will the ecu throw if the vtec isn't working. Any body wanna get paid for a weekend swap in Bensalem pa?

The easiest way to do it is use your stock f harness on the h motor cuz everything will plug right in. the only thing is you will have to create a couple wires to run from the ecu to vtec and the knock sensorOriginally posted by IridiumCore View PostI am wondering if the jdm harness that is coming with my swap package will work w/o modification. Get Honda genuine timing belt, water pump, balance bet, tstat(comes with gasket), and balance seal retainer. They are more expensive, but very worth the price. I wouldn't trust my $1,000+ swap to a $14 timing belt.

Great thanks. I'm gonnq look into those honda genuine parts. Meanwhile let me tell you about the nightmare I been having. I been through like 3 mechanics already. They gave me doubts that they could do the job right. First guys says to me, "Oh I didn't realize what you wanted". I told him an H22 swap complete with the trans and ecu. "Oh uh I can't put a V-tec into a non v-tec car". The second guy says "well you might be better off doing it yourself, i mess up and have to fix it i'm charging extra". Really! you can't garauntee that you can do this. The last guy says "sure i'll do it for you $500, then says i'm not sure about the wiring it may be kind of faulty. If it is I'll have charge for dianostic and labor fees to fix it" ok yeah right. I'll put them all to shame with the no experience at this that i have. I just need to find a garage. I might go to like u-store it and get a space to do it in Only problem there is heat and lighting. I been at this for like 3yrs know. Letting this lady of mine tell me "No have a mechanic do it or just get a new car" No B**** i don't want a new car i want my car, i got slapped after i said that face still tingles she got heavy hands. Push came to shove I'm tired of holding on to the money. I read a thread here where a 17 year old kid did this. That really encouraged me to press on.
Any way thanks for reading, thanks for the advice, and be easy with using that B**** word when dealing with women and your car.

Use the CB map sensor and evap. They are both mounted on the firewall. The knock sensor you need though unless you plan to run a chipped ecu.Originally posted by IridiumCore View PostOk this getting annoying. I was told that the swap is not coming with the map, knock sensors, or the evap canister. Do I use the cb's the jy's around my don't carry preludes.

Well said, wouldnt rely on crappy parts to run on expensive motors..OEM reliability..Originally posted by EJX_Michael View PostGet Honda genuine timing belt, water pump, balance bet, tstat(comes with gasket), and balance seal retainer.
