So I just purchased a 98 F20B DOHC VTEC with 5 speed LSD. It should be here in a week! Has anyone here done this swap! Im looking to get a timiming belt and some say I can use a H22 timing belt. From what I hear the H22 belt has one less tooth and is a very tight fit? So I want to hunt down the right belt for the job. I also heard I can use the H23 manual tensioner in place of the hydraulic tensioner? It will bolt right up to the motor mounts no problems. I will be going from obd1 to obd2 which i havent done yet but the F20b comes with wiring harreness and ecu. I have done an f22a6 swap for my 90 accord but that was obd1 to obd1. The only difficulty was the black box for iab and finding the right pinout in the ecu. which I figured out without to much difficulty on here. Also have done an H23 upper plenum swap. So if anyone has any info on this swap i would appreciate it alot! thanx in advance

yes its way easyer to do the obd2 to obd1...al u change is the harness and the dizzy and injecters and done.....also the harnesson the motor is no good its probly cut and the if not all the plugs are on the wrong side hence the motor came out of a right hand drive car urs is left hand drive....and to get the conversion harnes to work u have to re wire the obd1 harness to fit the obd1 plugs in the car.the only thing the obd2 conversion harness does is make it so u can use a obd2 computer in a obd 1 car.Originally posted by kirk90 View PostSo its just easier to go obd2 to obd1? I purchased the whole engine with injectors, dist, vtec silenoid, basiclly everything i need to swap into my car and go.

I really appreciate it! how hard is it to find a wiring diagram on this jdm F20B? Or do they follow basically the same diagram as most U.S. OBD2 systems?

so I purchased all my parts from from pullapart today for the auto to manual swap! The pedals, clutch master, lines, shift lever and cables, manual cluster. I paid $72 for all! Hopefully it all swaps in! first time doing it but I have read on here and other sites on the how to of it. The rest of the stuff like tranny, slave cylinder, clutch parts are coming with the new motor. I will slap a new throw out bearing in and maybe clutch depending on how the pressure plate looks.Last edited by kirk90; 11-26-2010, 07:24 PM.

Don't forget that the iacv is a three wire, not two. So u might want to consider that. All I did on mine is swap out the top plenum with an h22 and used the h22 iacv. And use the f20b t body. But b careful when taking the t body off, try not to mess up the gasket. Good luck and have lots of fun. I admit though, I miss my single cam setup.
