car at a nearby junkyard could i steal a auto trunk release lock off of to
be compatible with my car..& who would i wire it?

Whats bullshit about them? It's about as basic as it gets - a solenoid that you wire to a 12VDC push button switch - it's cheap and comes w/ mounting hardware.
