    H22 Swap Exhaust Questions

I posted this on AWC also but have not received much response.

My wife recently retired her 92 accord wagon due to the notorious quarter rust. We just picked up an automatic 93 EX wagon with a recent, low mileage, full JDM H22 swap in it for a good price.....$800. It has the stock JDM header and downpipe all the way up to the flexpipe. Since this is a daily and a pet hauler, she wants it to be fairly quiet on the inside.

We are getting a custom 2.25 stainless exhaust made for the car with a Magnaflow high flow cat. We are considering running a Flowmaster Hushpower resonator (part #12412400) and a universal Magnaflow or Flowmaster DBX canister muffler or a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator (part #1140) with a Walker Quiet Flow SS muffler . Im also going to dynamat the rear hatch area. We are trying to figure out how loud this will be. Anyone run any of these before? Any advice on what to run would be greatly appreciated. We are open to any and all suggestions.

    Thanks
    Tim n Jen

that should be pretty quiet it may even be quieter then stock exhaust. itll be chocking the hell out of the motor if you ask me. but you are looking for quietness not performance so its understand able. im currently in the process of redoing my exhaust but mine is 2.5" with a 29" cherrybomb and i am going to be adding a sti muffler to finish it off, im expecting it to be alittle louder then the what it would be in stock form.

I see what you getting at, but I dont see how it will choke it since stock for H22 is 2 or 2.25 with a restrictive cat, resonator, and muffler. We are going with all highflow/straight through stuff.

What setup are you saying will be quieter than OEM??

Does it have stock muffler? Cuz if you want it to be quiet why go away from stock. I will say keep thee h22 downpipe and header. The aftermarket ones will leak alot of times and the stock ones have the donut gaskets whick=h are stronger then the gaskets you get with the aftermarket ones. I am redoing the exhaust right now on my girls H22 Cb7 coupe with magnaflow cat, and magnaflow muffler. For now we are keeping the stock resonator

There is currently nothing under the car past the flex pipe. We are definately getting the Magnaflow high flow catalytic. Im starting to lean toward the vibrant resonator and walker muffler to keep it OE sounding and mellow.

i just think the h22 should have a 2.5" exhaust it breaths so much better just my opinion though. and the setup you want with maybe 2 resonator's well be pretty damn quite (like stock) but should sound very good when you get on it.
