    clean f22

Ok I really don't wanna do a h22 swap. But i'm more looking to do a clean f22 with maybe a swapped intake but i'm wondering what intakes will fit right on. Or maybe what bolt on upgrades I can do when I do a complete rebuild. And i mean bolt on maybe a few wire splicing but i'm not very good with wiring. I have rebuilt tons of small blocks in my life. Just don't want to redo alot of wiring. I'm just wanting to do a fresh clean f22 with a new fuel rail maybe trying to maybe get like 150 hp out of a f22 or something like that maybe new cam. And what do you guys think about using my block and head with 250,000 miles on them or should I try to find ones with a little less mileage. Sorry for all the questions but i'm really trying to decide btw I am on a 1200 dollar budget and hoping to get a new trans in there to.

full h23 intake, h23 trans. header, and a GOOD cat back. get a bisi or similar cam lvl 1 or 2, and a good tune for the cam.

How straight bolt on is a h23 head and h23 is dohc if I remember correctly does that bolt straight on intake. And what about the head? And also h23 trans is direct bolt on and what rebuilt kits are available for the f22 for like pistons and such. Or can I clean mine up and use them if they are not to bad. And what head gaskets and brands do you guys recommend for head gaskets and such.

just use a stock f22 longblock. dont do head swaps. they have problems with reliability.

as for headgaskets cometic or oem

$1200 isn't going to get you much. I'd rather have a healthy 20 year old F22A than one that was rebuilt for $1200.

          Don't do a headswap.

Please search for this information. It has all been covered in detail on this site. You are out of the "beginner" forum, so searching is a skill that you should have already learned. Nobody wants to spoon feed you.

Also, why do you want a new fuel rail?

            X2

1200 isn't gonna get you far for a real rebuild. I bet you spend half that at the machine shop alone if you choose to do it right. At least a third, and that's with minimal machining.

Oem fuel rail is plenty adequate.

Please, don't do a head swap. The head you have will be just fine for what your looking for.

Why not look into a low mile JDM F22 or F20 engine h23 manifold throw in a Bisimoto level 1 with tune and call it a day

In Japan, it costs a good deal of money to keep an old car on the road, which is why so many JDM engines have such low mileage. They reach a certain age or mileage, and they take them off the road. Scrap the car, store the engine, and sell them as replacements to people in other countries that have no problem keeping older cars on the road (such as the US.) Now, that's great... but the issue is this... those engines have been sitting on a shelf somewhere, probably for at least 10 years.
Just because a JDM engine has low mileage doesn't mean it's necessarily healthy.
I'd rather have a healthy, well-maintained F22A with 170,000 miles that has been run regularly since it was brand new, than a JDM engine with 40,000 miles that has been sitting on a shelf rotting for the past 10 years.

                  come on.....
he clearly states that he's been around engines, and with him messing with v8 engines, they were the first ones doing head swaps and strokers

just because you read this doesnt mean its true

i say the head swap wont get him the 150hp, being that the cams on the h23 are meant for a 10:1 comp engine, not a 8.4

the swap when done right will last the same time as with a f22a

if you want to get to 150hp, use a h23 intake, a cheap header, a chipped ecu and like julio stated a bisi stage 1 cam

I was wanting maybe a f20 but I'm not the best at wiring. I mean I can wire a stereo system like crazy. And have done 2 bb6 cluster swaps. But I don't know I really want direct plug and play when it comes to wiring. Because I was gonna buy this h22 and tranny off my buddy for 500 bucks but I'm scared of wiring it up lol.
