    h22a into a 94 EX...issues

My friend just got his swap done by a shop. He put about 300+ miles on it this past weekend after it was finished. After he installed his exhaust tonite he was test driving it and as he was driving home the car died. He has no clue what it is. A professional shop (whos name will remain unknown at this point) did the swap for him. I have not seen the swap or seen it run but i have heard it run and it sounded good. He did the manual tensioner conversion, has a highflo cat and AEM SRintake. The car is getting spark and fuel but not turning over. He tried starting it for me while on the phone and its just not firing up, its almost there but just not starting. I've told him to check all the wiriing that he can and check his vacuum hoses but i couldnt help him more. He didnt do the swap himself so hes not to familiar with the specific parts.

If anyone could offer up some more suggestions for him to try b4 he has to tow it back to a shop id greatly appreciate it. Im in arkansas and hes in cali so if anyone can shoot out to Antioch and help him out tonite or this week i bet hed appreciate it.

He is registered on this board but doesnt post up much. His username is cd6sir. If you want to give him real specific advice send him a PM and hell give you a call.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!

i know hes not a cb7 but hes a cd7 the next gen!!!!!!!!

    SHOW SOME LOVE!

Check ur timing. Problem could've arisen form tensioner conversion. It's possible that the belt jumped a tooth.

Check the timing and also check the ecu and make sure all the plugs are still all the way in.

Does it turn over fast? if it does its possible ur t-belt popped off or even worse broke.

okay im terminology inclined. when i heard him try to start it, it is almost starting it just doesnt "fire up" as for the timing belt issues. whats a quick way to tell if its jump a tooth. i know his belt isnt broken and his pullies are all new(OEM) the grounds ive told him numerous times to check but i dont know if he has. thanks for the input guys!!!..if none of there solve it ill come back to this thread and get more specific.

sounds like when my friends b16 jumped the timing belt, pull the valve cover off and put it a TDC and if one of the pulleys is off, thats his problem.

                      or the belt snapped.

those dyno test, does he have VTEC wiring done, it doesnt look like its an H22. He should have at least 180 whp.

Haha, he definately has vtec, its got that signature spike in the middle. It depends on what engine he has. Most usdm 5th gen preludes dyno more from 165whp-175whp. Its less common to see 180whp-190whp. While those numbers do see a little low, i dont think anything is wrong with the car.
