    Swapping auto for manual.

I am swapping my auto tranny for a manual. Here are some pix.

On this one you can see the scissor jack that I had to use because my hydraulic jack is broken. Oh and I did this with no help, a friend was supposed to come but it's ok.

And here it is on the ground.

I want to use the auto to manual mount kit from ESP but my tranny is a 90-91 EX and that kit does not fit the my tranny. But I talked to Jonh from ESP and he said that they are planning on making the kit for the 90-91 trannies. But for the mean time I attached the tranny to the mounting point on the frame using a adjustable screw kind of like the ones used on adjustable tie bars.

I used the ESP conversion mount in my 90 Accord so I don't know what's that is about.

Now what i had to do was track down the EX tranny which is coded as H2U5.
On that tranny where the mount bolts to, there is a spot that needs to be drill, tapped and to have one of the studs move to that new spot because the ESP conversion mount was made to basically accept the H series transmission instead. Really that's all you have do and your car will have a manual transmission in it.

My tranny is an H2U5, but it is a 90-91 H2U5. The only difference is that the 90-91 tranny does not have the H series holes. I cannot tap holes that are not there.

oh.. that sucks. I didn't even realize there was a difference between the two. Well the only thing i can think of now is to sell it to someone and buy an EX tranny with the spot that you could drill and tap or possibly upgrade to an H23 tranny for a little more fun but slightly less MPGs.
