    H22a4 swap problems

I know I'm probably going to get a lot of rude remarks and made out to be an idiot. But here we go.

I just got my H22A4 into my CB. I used my accord harness and plugged it all in. I used OBD2 injectors and cut the harness to wire them in. I deleted the black box and wired in the MAP sensor on the TB. I have a brand new OBD1 distributor. A P06 ECU chipped with an H22 basemap. I know the car is getting fuel. It is sparking as well. However it just won't turn over. No I have not wired in VTEC yet. But I can't seem to figure out why it won't turn over. I just really need some help here. Is there anything else I need to wire aside from VTEC to get it to at least turn over?

You didn't mention anything about deleting the injector resistor box. You need to do that when using the OBD2 injectors. A DIY guide can be found on this site or you can purchase a plug that does the work for you online.

I realized that. I deleted it about 15 mins ago. Still a no go.

How do you know you are getting spark and fuel?

The next thing is timing. Is that good?

Well being at a shop we have some cool tools available. We have these things that you can plug into the injector clips and it will light up to tell you they're getting power. We tested every injector. You can also smell the fuel and she let off a very loud backfire yesterday. We put a spark plug in each tube (the part that slides into the valve cover) and pointed it at a bolt to see if there is a spark coming from each one. And we rebuilt the motor and before we put the belts and valve cover gaskets on we timed it while it was on the engine stand. So we've got tat all set. We tried my chipped P06 with no go and the stock accord ECU with a no go either. Were pretty stumped. I did not out on the old accord water neck and the sensor on it is broken. (Just the metal clips are sticking out) however I put the wire on it both ways (because you can't tell what side is what due to the broken plastic clips) and had it hanging. I also converted the sensor on the back of the block to bolt on like needed.

Compression? Maybe a third ecu? All the injector solenoids have continuity?

I can't think of anything else.

If the fan switch on the water neck is broken, why don't you go to the junkyard and grab one with a pigtail to repair yours? It's not what's preventing your car from starting, but it's going to be an issue sooner or later.

Are you positive that your mechanical and ignition timing is set correctly?

The ground under the thermostat? Common mistake to forget to connect it...

The compression is great. I'll see if we have another ECU to try out. But the stock ECU was great. It may have got a bit wet but I don't think it really did. It was just lightly damp under the mats when I changed ECU's on the carpet. I'll check the solenoids tomorrow.

I'll stop by the yard and see if I can grab one. Problem is there's two CB's at my yard. And the yard sucks because kids go in there and throw things around and break things for no reason because they have no respect. Especially cars like ours that "aren't popular" (many people drive them here just not many at yards guess it's a good thing) and they bash them. Breaking glass and other things. Many people take what they want and ruin other things as well. (taking heads leaving hoods open destroying blocks ect) The timing was set correctly. Andrew the owner of the shop I mentor at set it and he knows his Hondas inside and out. He's also the one who rebuilt the engine.

I'll have to check the ground under the thermostat though I believe we did ground it. Won't hurt to check.

Also there is a plug that is not plugged into anything and we have no clue what it goes to. I'll take a picture tomorrow when I'm working on it and upload it ASAP I'll take a video of what it is doing as well to see if anyone can maybe tell. Thank you all.

That might have been worth mentioning in the original post, don't you think? Anyway, it's probably the crankshaft positioning sensor on the oil pump but that doesn't mean anything to you if you have an OBD1 distributor and wiring harness.

Yeah I probably should've mentioned that. Sorry. But there is not a single thing to plug it into around it. My harness is my stock accord one. And the distributor is brand new. (OBDI) I'll have pictures in about an hour because I'm waiting for a car to drive over to the shop. (It's about a 40 min drive from my house. )

If it is indeed the plug coming off of the oil pump then you don't need to plug it in. Your distributor has the positioning sensor built in. It's used in the OBD2 set up whose distributor does not.

If you're talking about another plug then this does not apply.

This is the plug I was referring to.

I would like to thank everyone for the replies. However I am VERY excited and happy to say that she runs! We were semi-stupid and forgot to replace the ecu fuse. We put it in. She fired right up. So tonight I'm thinking I might make my MRT and show everyone the girl!

Looks like the plug for the speed sensor. Located on trans next to the shift cable bracket
